I'm pretty sure McD wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger if Len and Goodwin were not included (even without assurance of Love staying). He may only have the opportunity to get a guy like Love once in a decade.
I don't think Minny would do it yet though. But if you have Love starting, and Frye off the bench as backup center or something, this team is on another level.
If the team did really well, I can't see Love leaving for less money anyway. It's pretty rare, especially if a team is good. For Howard it was understandable. Of course there is the McDyess scenario, which still makes little sense to me.
Just looking at Goodwin's potential... he could be James Harden but with defense.... Its far fetch NOW... but he is 19... he can drive at will, have enough athleticism... its his shot that will NEED to improve to be a threath.
At minimum he could be Lance Stephenson but more fluid and better character/work ethic as soon as his 3rd year.... and beyond that he could be a star by the time he is 24-25.
Len could be a Deandre Jordan by the time he is 25 years old... pulling double figure rebounds and 3-4 blocks a game.
Love is good, but he isnt a two way player star.... as I said.. he is David Lee with a 3point shot.... damn good player... but you need to surround him with good defenders and athletes to make a true contender.
Hence why I said if we DIDN'T have to include Goodwin and Len in a trade for Love, and it was the Morris bros and picks, I think McD would pull the trigger.
But I think many feel he is more than David Lee with a 3 pt shot. The guy has led the league in rebounding. First white guy since.....?
He was 26/12.5/4.4 this year. Barkley never had a year with those numbers. At this point you could say he is a taller Barkley who can hit the 3. That's probably a better comp than David Lee.
He is constantly a triple double threat. Sure he may not be perfect but most consider him a top 10 player. He was 3rd in PER this year.

I've been really impressed with P.J. Tucker all season, he's a completely different player than when he was drafted by the Raps and seems to have that gritty intensity on both ends of the floor which makes players like him so valuable. I obviously haven't seen him play as many games as you guys have but what do you guys think about him? How much money do you think he's going to sign for as a free agent?

Just read up on the waiver claiming rules for amnestied players. It's possible to pick him up for less than his waivered salary but I think we would have to be looking at something in the $8-9m range before we'll find any real value in picking him up.

The Utah Jazz have played decently over the last month, however the goal is still to rebuild this season, so any players who don't have a future with the team could be offered in trade proposals up to the Feb. 20 deadline. Those players are Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush and Marvin Williams. Of the four, Rush has the most to offer if he's healthy. Rush is getting better after the torn ACL last season and the hardest part is mentally trusting the knee. Rush played 14 minutes on Monday and scored seven points without missing a shot. Rush, to no surprise, is stoked with the performance.
"I definitely felt ... a little bit more comfortable than I’ve been showing the last few weeks," Rush told The Salt Lake Tribune. "I think it’s just coming from practice — all the practice time we’ve been having."
Rush is a solid defender and can knock down shots, which is why he could be moved over the next month if he continues to play well and the knee stays strong. Teams that might have interest in Rush include Chicago and Oklahoma City.
All four players could land in the free agent market late next month, should they not be traded, via a buyout with the Jazz. Players waived by Mar. 1 each season are eligible to play in the post-season.

Wouldnt mind bringing me back some Wesley J on the cheap for a 3+D guy. He played really well when he got minutes here. Surprisingly athletic too
Rockets, Others Interested In Zoran Dragic
The Rockets are the leaders among many NBA teams interested in Spanish league shooting guard Zoran Dragic, reports Lefteris Moutis of Eurohoops.net. Unicaja Malaga is likely to pick up its team option on Dragic this summer, but the contract includes a $500K NBA buyout. That figure is within the NBA’s Excluded International Player Payment Amount of $600K for next season, so the buyout probably won’t be a stumbling block. An NBA deal is more likely to hinge on playing time for the brother of Suns guard Goran Dragic, as Zoran Dragic is seeking a significant role right away, Moutis writes.
Dragic played for Houston’s summer league team in 2012, around the time his brother left the Rockets to sign with the Suns. It’s unlikely he’ll play in an NBA summer league again this year, Moutis writes. He’s set to undergo hernia surgery after the Spanish league playoffs, and that will knock him out for a month. Once healthy, he’ll join the Slovenian national team as it prepares for this summer’s World Cup of basketball, as Moutis documents.
An enhanced role in Unicaja Malaga’s offense allowed Dragic’s numbers to jump this season, as he put up 10.6 points on 8.1 shots per game after posting just 4.9 PPG on 3.9 shots a contest in 2012/13. He also improved his three-point stroke, going from woeful 22.5% accuracy last year to 32.7% this season, but that still makes him a below-average shooter who’d seemingly have trouble fitting in with Houston, which places a premium on the trey. He went undrafted in 2011 and turns 25 in June, so it’s worth wondering just how much potential he possesses. Perhaps teams are considering him with an eye toward his brother, who can become a free agent next summer.

Check Wes's gamelogs and I think you'll find that he didn't play as well as you remember.
