He's never once said this. Never.

The only thing he's ever said is that he wants to win.

No they don't. Seriously - Waiters isn't going anywhere unless Love indicates he'll sign an extension with the Cavs. That trade could ruin the franchise for a decade if he walks next year.

Im sorry, but nothing about that package is setting back any franchise by a decade.

I can't see Utah making an offer. Not terribly interested in Love for one and no need for a rental for two.

LA can have him.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

No real offer from the Jazz either. *If* he doesn't want to stay in Minnesota there's even less reason to think he'd stay in Utah.

Best offer from Boston would probably be 2014 Celtics pick plus their choice of Sullinger/Olynyk, with Jeff Green or expirings to match salary. Boston would then probably try to use their other picks to acquire either another star or a defensive center. Also, depending on whether cpaspace is needed for subsequent moves, Boston would likely be able to take one of their bad contracts with the Pierce TPE.

You don't know that. You don't know who the Cavs will take at No. 9. You don't know who will be available next year with the Memphis pick. You don't know if Bennett just had a rough rookie year dealing with injuries or if he will be a genuine bust. You don't know if Waiters will continue on his current trajectory and become an all star.

I do know that if the Cavs don't add a third blue-chip piece this summer, Love would be gone next year.

^^^ Ouch, that seems rough for GS. Also, wouldn't that put them over, or close to, the hard cap?

interesting rebuttal. Why is it wrong for me to suggest that giving a couple good but hardly great picks shouldnt set back a franchise based on me not knowing who they will be pick, but correct for you to do so working from the same ignorance? And sorry but neither Bennett or Waiters has shown anything remotely close to franchise-altering play to this point. Sure they could be late bloomers and I could look foolish down the road if I was in charge and dealt them. But I have to play the hand with what I know and trading away a couple moderate assets shouldnt ruin a team for a decade.

Drummond was No. 8. Klay Thompson was later than that. Hard to argue with Bennett to date but you are wrong about Waiters. He already starts at 2 for most teams in the league.

Thanks for not reading.

He is a rocket fan and his opinion is as valuable as yours.
Following your guidelines you should add Parsons to the Rockets offer as I'm sure he and other Rocket fans have made their case why they would include Parsons several times over the last year.

If you could explain why, the OP will gladly make note of it in the OP per his own instructions. I could even add him in as well if necessary.
Or perhaps a link to an old thread where you state why could work..or maybe even the multiple and 1s you've already received would be evidence enough.

Thats a good point. Offers should be separated into with/without an extension since it makes a huge difference.

LarsV8 wrote:Every year, this always happens. People use the popular phrase "Other teams will offer more", which isn't always true. So instead of negotiating, or making demands, lets just make a list of every team's best offer for Kevin Love, for informational purposes only

Ground Rules
- Speak for your team only.
- Please refrain from saying "that is not enough for Love" or "Joke offer", we are simply making a list.
- If you disagree with another fan of your team, make your case and we will note it in the list.
- Ignore guaranteed extensions. This is Kevin Love the expiring contract.

I will update the listing in this post, as the offers some in.

Houston offers:
Asik/Lin/Jones/Dmo/ 2014 #1, 2016 #1, 2 #2's of Minny's choosing for Love/Martin

Cleveland offers:
Tristan Thomas, 2014 #9 for Love

BOS '14 #1, BRK '16 #1, their preference of KO or Sullinger/Bogans' non-guaranteed deal, and Joel Anthony's expiring, and their choice of two other minimum non-guaranteed deals. This offer has the added benefit of cutting MIN's total salary for 14-15. I mentioned it in the Boston trade thread but I don't see any way that MIN pays out almost $70M in salary for a lotto-bound rebuilding team. My guess is they will be looking to get down to the cap line for next year at least.
