Not sure I have seen such a high and then a low.

Randy looked great having gone to the spread line up of

Miller, Beal, Webster, AH and Gooden and they blow them out 29-11 2nd quarter.

It was all set up for a win.

Then he sat on his hands and didn't put them back in until the lead was lost in the 3rd.

But then he did go back to it, and they got the lead back. I was saying, just let them close it out. Let get the win.

But he didn't

So frustrating. Specially since every back up was driving. I mean Miller drove more then Wall. So did Beal. AH. Gooden. But Wall refused to. He just over passes to much for the playoffs.

They needed to attack them in the post, but Wall wouldn't jump into the fight.

Cavs just fired Brown again - so there is hope that Randy might get replaced.

Of course the Cavs got rid of their GM first - :)

It's the 3rd time in 4 years that he's been fired. The golden parachutes he's probably getting must be fabulous.

Man, add in another coach who will coach circles around Wittman. Under SVG, Detroit could become an elite defensive team very soon.

Cavs are looking for a new coach too, we might have the worst GM/coach combo in the Eastern conference before too long.

Other teams are getting elite free agent coaches and we give Wittman and Grunfeld extensions.

It's painful.. I hope Ted is capable of seeing the bigger picture but I doubt it.

Will Wittman ever, EVER be mentioned among the top ranks of coaches in the league? No. Don't reward him for one good year

2 wins in the 2nd round.

That was my bench mark for a successful season.

They did it. Wizards fans should finally be happy.

And Wall finally went off in a game.

Beal looks great in the playoffs.

A blow out on the road in the 2nd road in an elimination game.

OTTOMAN even got his first 2 playoff pts.

They meet all their medium goals.

Now its time to go after advanced goals.

Andre Miller said in 15 years in the league he's never gone into games more prepared than when he played under Wittman. That's a pretty shining endorsement.

Doc Rivers has grown leaps and bounds over the years, from a M.Jackson-esque motivational coach to one that now deals well with X's and O's. Why not Wittman?

Apparently George Karl wants to coach the Wiz if the job becomes available.

Would love this.

To be fair, Wittman comes from the FLip Saunders school of coaching which is all about coaching up vets to win playoff games.

Witt was great with x's and o's but we still need a guy who can develop talent better. I'd prefer a new coaching staff with Karl at its head personally.

Where did you hear this?

Karl has been campaigning for a lot of jobs recently so it wouldn't surprise me, but it's interesting that he'd be talking about a vacancy that isn't open yet.

If you Google it you should find it. It was only a one liner in a article about him wanting to coach us or Cleveland I believe.

Tough call on Randy. He did well in the playoffs. I think much of what frustrated me during the season was him leaving them out there to figuring things out ( not calling time outs ) and him letting Beal develop ( all the dribbling and low conversion mid range from the left )

There is other stuff, but most of it didn't show up in the playoff which makes you wonder.

All that said, its hard not to get a George Karl if you can. Randy may be better then we realized but it would be another 2-3 years before him developed a big time name.

A Miller giving the coaches and organizations made props. So did AH. He gives Wall and Beal some props as well.

And of course M Webster gave of amazing exit interview. He touches on a ton.

Well, he exceeded the mark set so no real surprise.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... th-Wizards

Congrats Mr Randy.

I wonder if it is really 3 full or 2 plus an option.

So Mr Randy is going to get a chance to repair that terrible W/L record and shake the label, worst winning record with over 500 games coached. Very shortly, he will leave that title to Wes Unseld.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/coa ... stats.html

Ranked 198 with 520 games .367 he is now only one slot below the best Wizards coach ever...
Wes Unseld 547 games .369 After next season, Wes will hold Randy's old title.

If Randy can lead them to a nice 50 win season, he will jump up a ton to from 198 to 176 range with 601 games at .400 putting him in John Lucas range who has 431 games at .401. But now he will have over 600 games coached. Will he have the worst record at that range... Nope..Tom Nissalke would be worse ranked at 187 with .388 in 639 games.

Now if he can do that back to back, then he can move past 165th Kevin Loughery 1136 games at .417 and jump up to the 161st with 684 games coached at .425

That would have him jumping 98 slots in two years. Man, its tough when you start in the hole with the record he had before this year.

Now if he can pull off 50 wins for 3 straight years .... Now he is up ranked 143th.. That right there with the likes of Paul Silas, Byron Scott, and Bernie Bickerstaff who all coached from 875 to 937 games at .444

Randy would have gone from 198th .367 in 2013/14 to 143th .445 in 2016/17

http://www.bulletsforever.com/2014/5/27 ... h-contract

Randy Wittman will reportedly make just over $3 million per season on new contract

That's a little less than Toronto's Dwane Casey, who received a three-year contract as well.

That's not a whole lot of money, they certainly won't hesitate to fire him if things go south.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's a 3rd year option too.

This is a good move for continuity, let's see what happens these next two years.
