Fake Trade Thread 2014-15

Say the Pistons pick falls to us at 9 and OKC and NYK came to us offering players for pick 9.

What would you do?

a)Keep pick 9 and select _____________.
b)Trade pick 9 for Hardaway Jr.
c)Trade pick 9 for Jeremy Lamb

Choice #1 for me would be packaging #9, #24, #45, Zeller, Neal/Henderson/Taylor, and maybe even a future 1st to move up into the top 6. Star power wins out in this league, and nabbing the 6th pick means we're guaranteed to have one or maybe even two (if someone stupidly snags Smart in the top 5) of these six players: Wiggins/Randle/Parker/Embiid/Vonleh/Exum drop to us.

Choice #2 would be selecting McDermott, Zach Lavine, Nik Stauskas, or Gordon at 9.

Choice #3 would be going after the likes of Klay Thompson with the pick and our other assets.

Choice #4 would be getting Lamb

I wouldn't consider trading the 9th pick for Hardaway. That's ridiculous.

I would not trade the ninth pick for Lamb but most of the rest I am fine with.

I love Lamp but I wouldn't trade it straight up. I'd probably consider 9 + Neal + Haywood for Lamb + 21, then try to move 21 and 24 into the mid-10s, but my 1st choice would be to trade up, not down.

I don't think I make that trade. Neal and Haywood aren't terrible contracts and moving the 9 for Lamb is a huge overpay. Just seems way to much for someone who is so unproven.

2 capable defenders to defend LeBron in MKG & Josh Smith (maybe 3 if you include Stephenson)

Smith can protect the rim to save face of Jefferson's deficiencies

I would be excited with this lineup, and give them a better chance than the current Pacers to defeat the Heat in the East

I would literally shed tears of joy if we got lance but call me crazy id rather have mcroberts than josh smith any day. Mcroberts was crucial for our success last year with his ability and willingness to pass along with his basketball IQ which is off the charts. A low bbiq guy like smith could potentiality destroy the great chemistry we had last year.

Smith was a key piece in an ATL team that made the playoffs year after year, i dont think he would cause problems here, but the problem is he gets paid way to much

With an extension I think everyone but Kemba comes into play including our picks we have rights on. I am not sure we can offer enough to match what others would put out there. What we can do is offer rookies and picks and absorb the rest of his deal providing some cap relief to Minny.
