I agree! I can't really see any team offering him a starters job straight up anyway. So why risk moving to a team with a different system in place and your game doesn't translate as well. Sure, he may get a quick pay day on a 3-5 year contract, but if he stays with the Spurs and continues to improve he may end up playing for another 7-10 years on very good money still.
Veteran Point Guards are always sort after to offer support and leadershipoff the bench, especially ones that can knock down the 3. If he takes a 3-5 year contract with the Spurs, after that he will be a proven commodity in the league with veteran experience. I think he would easily compare with guys like Jarryd Bayless, DJ Augustine and even Derek Fisher once that time comes.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

I think he will consider the situation he's at. He probably looked at what happened to Gary Neal as an example of the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Optimal deal: 3 years for 9-10 million maximum. He's lights out and I think he's only going to get better as a good bench player.

Take 3yrs guaranteed when RC slides it over the table. Stay aligned to Pop at this stage. Spurs have spoken to a couple of PG draft prospects which is interesting.
