I don't doubt that you are correct in comparable valuations, but lets be realistic. Kevin Love has made it clear that he wants to be with a contender. He is going to be a free agent and sign with a contender eventually, so whoever gets him is really loaning him for just a year - unless that team happens to already be contenders.
I cannot think of a single team that has the assets to get Love, whilst ensuring that they remain contenders. The Spurs have no assets. Oklahoma wont give up either KD or Westbrook. Miami won't give up LeBron (and who really wants Wade right now?). Teams like Cleveland wont give up guys like Irving, because if they do, Love wont be with a contender and he will leave after a year. Same goes with George and Indiana and/or Harden and Houston.
The two best bets according to RealGM are the Dubs and the Bulls. The only way for the Dubs to get Love would be to give up Klay, DLee and Barnes (plus picks). The only way for the Bulls to get Love would be to give up DRose (plus add negative value in Boozer). Unless Love signs an extension, neither of these teams are likely to pull the trigger as it would leave them decimated should he leave (and lets not forget the Howard / Lakers historical precedent). That leaves the Wolves in a pretty poor situation.
All they can really do is trade Love to a lottery team with a high draft pick or picks. After the trade, who is to say that these teams will become immediate contenders? The probability is against them.
The Clipper offer of DJ + JCraw + Misc is not great, but it comes without strings attached and no 3 team deals necessary. If Love decides to bail, then that's life. If not, then he has a contender. I don't think you can write this off so quickly in my opinion.
If that's the Clipper offer, Minny hangs up the phone quick. It's not enough. While some of the expectations for a return need to be tempered (he is an impending FA), they will get more for Love than DJ, Craw, and 28 plus flotsam and jetsam.

Re: Kevin Love - Every team's best offer
I can only speak from a Toronto stand point. It would be good to get Love in Toronto. The deal is pretty much the most we would be willing to move for him. Maybe it can be tweaked to get Jonas V in there by taking out Amir plus a pick or two.
Only thing with this deal is it would leave us depleted at the 2 or 3 depending on where we put Ross and I doubt there is a realistic SF target that we could get at the MLE level or with our 2 big buyout pieces (Hansbrough and Salmons)

Minnesota has Budinger, Brewer, and Martin.
Jonas V would have to go to a third team, we have 2 centers in Dieng and Pek.

I get you have Martin and a few good wings but realistically Toronto isn't going to overbid for him i.e. Ross + DeRozan + say Amir or Jonas + 2 firsts that is just crazy. I mean I could see DeRozan/Amir/Lowry and 2 firsts for Rubio and Love but that's about the very most I would want to spend. If a team is stupid to throw their entire future for a unsigned Love then I hope it's not us

Toronto make for terrible trade partners because the only player that could get Love is Derozan. Love would just walk after this year and you would lose everything.
I can't see the collection of "meh" assets netting Love.

And that's why I said Toronto shouldn't be trying to get in a bidding war. DeRozan/Amir and 2 firsts I think is better then the Parsons/Houston first and Asik. At least DeRozan gets you a young SG signed to a great deal who can flat out score and is improving his playmaking and defense

For an unsigned Love, I'd trade PF Nene, SF Otto Porter and 2016 & 2018 1st round picks.

Re: Kevin Love - Every team's best offer
First off, as a Raptors fan, I want to say I feel for Minnesota fans as this really has to suck. Due to KAHN and that dummy Taylor, the team really faltered badly and made a ton of dumb decisions while Love was here. With that out of the way, if I'm Minnesota, the first thing they have to do is try to go full rebuild here as I don't really think it's worth it to retool.
I think Love will go to the east and sure you have the LA rumours, but I think he's tired of trying to make it in the west. The east offers an easier route to the finals with the heat ageing and the pacers looking like a team that needs Dr. Phil, I think the apple is ripe for the taking and the 2 teams in the east would appeal to him: Chicago and Boston. Here'd be my 2 offers with both being contingent on Love waiving his player option the way Chris Paul did since if he does that, you give the team he goes to an opportunity to find a way to put guys around him:
1) Chicago
Chicago: Kevin Love, Corey Brewer, Ronny Turiaf, TPE
Sacramento: Taj Gibson, Gary Neal, Willie Green(non-guaranteed), #45 and future second from Charlotte
LA Clippers: Jason Thompson
Minnesota: Carlos Boozer, Jared Dudley, Jason Terry, Travis Outlaw, Brendan Haywood, #7, #16, #19, #24, #28/2017 first rounder via LAC, Sacramento pick from Chicago(protection removed),
Charlotte: Kevin Martin
Bulls give up a solid guy in Gibson along with Boozer and some picks, but they get a top flight star in Love who'd do really well in Thibs' system plus they get an opportunity with some cap space to bring over Nikola Mirotic. They could even use some of their remaining assets in a S&T for Anthony as well if the opportunity presents itself although I think they can only get one of Love or Anthony due to the cap plus I doubt Reinsdorf would pay that much for a Rose-Butler-Anthony-Love-Noah combo. They also get a great energy guy in Corey Brewer who'd be a great second unit guy and is best friends with Joakim Noah and is on a good contract. Turiaf is a good backup centre who can play some minutes for Noah while he gets much needed rest.
Kings give up their lottery pick if nobody is left on the board that they like, so they go for a guy in Gibson who'd be the perfect compliment to Cousins and could make things interesting there and the Kings could end up playing a lot better and they slide down in the draft and get 2 seconds with one of them they can use for their bench while losing pieces that didn't fit.
Clippers get that third big they have coveted in Thompson who'd do well for them as a 5 while losing Dudley and Green who don't fit the long term plans in the city of angels.
For Minnesota, it's tough to take, but if they were to do this deal, they get massive expiring deals that clear a lot of long term commitments cap wise. They could buy out Boozer since nobody will trade for him unless they are looking for cap relief so you may want to hold onto him for that. They also get a bundle of picks they could use like the Kings pick which could do well for them if it lands somewhere nice. Perhaps Vonleh? They could use their picks obtained to move up in the draft to go for a player on their wishlist. Saunders and ownership won't admit it, but they know that they are on the clock and have to get what they can for Love. This would help cut some salary in the long run and begin the rebuilding phase. They also shed long term salary in the phase as well.
Charlotte is looking for a boost in offense at the wings and K-Mart could fit the bill nicely. All they give up is Neal+Haywood+picks. This would work well for them.
2) Boston
The Celtics have emerged as a possible landing spot for Love so I'd go for this instead plus any deal involving Love to Boston will require the lottery pick:
Boston: Kevin Love, Kevin Martin(part of Pierce TPE), Larry Sanders
Minnesota: Brandon Bass, Keith Bogans, Jared Sullinger, #5, BKN 2016, LAC 2015, Gerald Wallace, Philadelphia seconds and perhaps Miami 2016 second
Milwaukee: J.J. Barea, Alexey Shved, Joel Anthony, #17
Bucks most likely would want out of Sanders' deal if in the event Embiid is taken by them and his back clears or if new ownership isn't impressed by him. They get immediate cap relief and a first in the process.
C's get flanked with great shooters in Martin and a star in Love who can stretch the floor while getting an anchor down low in Sanders who is the perfect buy low piece for Boston. They lose some picks and a prospect while dumping Wallace, but they get a lot better and could be contenders with Rondo/Martin/Green/Love/Sanders.
For the T-Wolves, it sucks that Love is leaving, but in this deal they get a shorter deal from K-Mart to Wallace who will be bought out ASAP while they can waive Bogans for cap relief and Bass is an expiring. They get rid of Barea who has worn out his welcome in Minnesota, but they get a lottery pick and a bunch of future picks including the Nets pick in 2016 which is starting to look promising due to their ageing core. Sullinger could be the piece brought in to take over Love's role although they will be big shoes to fill.
Either scenario I present, the T-Wolves won't get the best of it, but the only thing I could suggest they do is tear it down and keep Muhammad and Dieng and trade everybody else for a good price if possible.
Sorry for the long post

After giving it some time, I have noticed that Warriors fans completely reject handing over Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Cleveland fans completely reject giving up Waiters and Thompson and Chicago fans just don't seem to have anything Wolves fans desire.
I would also like to point out that things aren't likely to get better for the Wolves. Love has class and never really talks about his future. Once he starts talking, his trade value can only decrease.
Again, I am probably being a homer, but I have not yet seen any Clipper fans reject DJ + JCraw (or Reddick) + Pick + "Flotsam & Jetsam". The Wolves have to accept something - letting Love walk would not be ideal for a team that has traditionally struggled to obtain top quality FA on the market.

seems you just trying to trade just for sake of trading....so hypothetically if its goes through you plan on playing Blake/Love as the 2 bigs?

From what I've been reading, the most realistic offers are:
Taj Gibson, Mike Dunleavy, Tony Snell and a bunch of firsts
Harrison Barnes, David Lee and Draymond Green
Jared Sullinger, Keith Bogans, Brandon Bass and the Celtics first this year
Lakers first this year and TPE
Omer Asik and Chandler Parsons
I think the Celtics deal straight for Kevin Love is the best one IMO.
Question for T'Wolves fans.. do they take one of the above offers or let Love walk next summer and save salary?

Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Cavs: TT, 2014 #9(or higher), top 10 2015, one of waiters/Bennett or even sign and trade deng. Anyone on the roster not named Irving to meet cap. Nothing outlandish considering he could bolt in a year.

The Cavaliers wouldn't risk it IMO, the only teams Love has any interest in playing for are listed above or the Knicks. The Cavs don't give up that much to lose in round 2 of the playoffs then lose Love to the Lakers or Knicks next off-season.

As a Clippers fan, I reject it. Love and Griffin both get under rated as man defenders (but still not what you'd call great...) but if you ran them at the 4/5 there would be zero rim protection; opposing teams would be throwing down dunks like its an all star game.
LAC and MIN are poor trade partners.

I can't deny that this trade is opportunistic. I just don't believe that DJ and Griffin will work against small ball elite teams. We need a change and it will be hard to get rid of Griffin. DJ had a career year, and whilst he may not fit on the Wolves, both he and JCraw would be significant trade assets. Its much better than getting nothing, should Love become a Laker for example.
Personally, I would rather trade Griffin and Dudley for Love and Brewer in addition to a 2014 pick swap (plus cap space), but I just don't see my fellow Clipper fans agreeing to any trade of Griffin.
Whilst Griffin and Love are both large PF's, I think they complement each others style. Griffin would move to C and Love would create space whilst still collecting rebounds.

I'm fairly certain if the cavs make it to round 2 with kyrie and love, we can have a decent shot at Lebron when he is a free agent. New big three. And that would be the most success love or kyrie has had in their careers. I can almost guarantee you that Lebron would come back for that team.

Lakers first rounder is fine if Julius Randle is around. They could do Kevin Martin for Nash too if the Lakers wanted to free up 2.5 mil to work with.

LAC and MIN are poor trade partners.
Granted, our rim protection would suffer, but its not like we would have zero rim protection. There would still be a traditional center or two on the roster for those situations. I think Griffin can handle the paint - maybe not at DJ's level, but at a respectable level nonetheless. Both he and Love have been drawing a lot of charges lately. Foot speed and BBIQ are very important in rim defense.
Our offense would be unstoppable though.

Kevin Love and Shabazz Muhammad and New Orleans' 2014 second round pick in exchange for Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Jared Sullinger and Boston's 2014 first round pick works.
