Just noticed the old twitter handle - @bobcats- is now listed as New Orleans Hornets. Guess we switched that too.

The real victims here are the guys at Charlottebobcats(dot)com

What is there to "work on" with the Phills jersey? Michael Jordan is free to retire #13 for him, is he not? Heck, the Bobcats could have retired #13 back in 2004 as a homage to Phills. At the same time, the Pelicans can bring back #13 and say "well, we don't recognize or honor the Hornets history, so the number is available for anyone to use." Just like when the Montreal Expos became the Washington Nationals, they no longer recognized #8, 10, and 30 as retired and let players wear them.

They mentioned having to talk to his family and such for some reason. Basically making sure they cover every aspect of everything before they do something.

And I thought the Minnesota media was bad. Please tell me he's not actually a sports reporter.

Yeah I don't see why the family would have a problem. I'm sure the Hornets will have a number retirement ceremony and re-honor Phills. It'll be a good thing b/c then the younger fans of today will know who Phills was. I'm sure the family will be ok with that.

I believe he started as a local radio hack but now works for Fox Sports. Our media representation is pretty poor here between the Panthers and Hornets.

Cool to have the Hornets name back. Look forward to going to more games next year.
Anyone know where I might be able to find some bobcats gear that is still for sale? I went to the Cats Cavs game towards the end of the year and a lot of stuff was on sale or clearance. Looking to get a few thing. Thanks in advance.

Damn, CHA used to have some great players. Here's hoping the new Hornets start looking as good.

I hope someone corrected the guy in the general board topic who called the Pelicans the "real Hornets." The Hornet name has nothing to do with New Orleans, that is a fact.
