that lineup is pretty dang good (if everything goes right aka Monroe and Al can coexist)

Monroe & Jefferson cannot coexist for any ball club expecting to win

Monroe allowed his opponent counterpart to live up to a 21.2 PER against his defense

talk about some swiss cheese interior defense, they would score 35-40 ppg between the two of them but they'd probably give up just as much

I think Stauskas would be the best immediate fit as well. Lavine has the most potential at that spot though, so if we're looking to trade it for a vet then he should be the pick.

Unless someone unexpected falls, Stauskas is who I want. He's as good of a player as anyone at that spot and he's the best fit for our team.

I like Lavine, but he's too much of a risk at 9.

Agreed, his passing skills are almost as good as his ability to shoot. He makes fantastic decisions with the basketball. Outside of us managing to trade up (without selling the house) to get Exum, there is no better fit for our current roster.

You can mix and match with Zeller for tougher assignments at PF (I hate to tell you but Zeller is an improving defender) and play Monroe at C on the second unit to keep the inside/outside game going all game long.

Well we have Zeller + Biz to play matchups. We also have an all-defense SF to help out and mitigate their defense. Al learned team D this year, Monroe is younger by far. Ewing is like king of the Georgetown Hoyas, worshipped by Greg Monroe.

If Greg Monroe is your new toy with a little name that you'll continually insist on us to sign, I'll just leave this debate alone. Monroe wouldn't be a good fit for the roster at all. I would deter from it if I was Cho

Chad Ford's updated mock has Charlotte taking Doug McDermott at #9th overall. I just seen them put it up on ESPN

You saw how Pekovic/Love worked out right?

Now make that worse. That's Al+Monroe. At least Pek and Love have different offensive games.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if the organization

1)Has lost faith in Biz and can get something good for him + pick 24
2)Sees Ewing as a mentor for fellow Hoya, Greg Monroe for team defense
3)Sees Big Al gone in 2 years envisions a young Monroe as a good protege to learn from him

It's not that farfetched.

Plus MKG as an all-defense guy should help in the post.

Our front court would have crazy rebounding for the next 2 years as well with MKG, Monroe, Al, Zeller and possibly Biz if they keep him.

That's the reason why I'm not enthusiastically interested in McDermott. All Charlotte need to do is put a talented shooting guard with 3-point range alongside MKG and they'll excel. You seen how dramatically better the team was with CDR at SG instead of Henderson. That's how dangerous they'd be with Young

I'm becoming sold on Stauskas with the pick. If it's McDermott, that could definitely mean there's a team with a strong offer for MKG. I don't think a GM would offer much for him but who knows? Maybe we can pull a Tyrus Thomas with MKG and snare a 1st from the Wolves along with KMartin

Their team next year could be

Rubio
D. Green
Barnes
Lee
Pek

...in the West

Is there any possible way we can trade up for Exum? I have dreams of him being the best of this draft class. It'll be terrible if he goes to orlando, Exum-Oladipo-Harris is disgusting.

The danger of taking Exum for Charlotte is the road that's been taking by Cho too often, which is drafting a talented, lengthy, athletic player that can't shoot and spending the next few years hoping the player will develop a above average jump shooting game in order to progress. There's scenarios, but I would stray away from that train of thought

I just think his offensive and passing skills transcend anything Kemba/any of our 1's 2's or 3's currently have to offer.

Don't disagree, but don't agree either. Exum is simply a talent you can't pass up. He may take a little time to develop the shot, but he's so damn skilled I'd be surprised if his stroke isn't silky smooth within a couple years. He'll be just fine and I think he'll be James Harden good.

I don't think it'll matter, he'll clearly make it a top 4 draft by the time the draft starts and Orlando is the perfect fit for him and none of the top 4 will trade their picks. Shame.

Orlando really needed to be in the top 3 for it to work.

This is pretty much my exact take on this draft, except I would be pretty happy with James Young. I would consider trying to move up for Vonleh if we think we can sign Lance to fill our need at SG.
