No it doesn't. There's no good reason for Minnesota to Shabazz in a Love trade.

I think he's just undervaluing Shabazz as a prospect. People who didn't watch him play don't get it.

So, let's all just agree that the Wolves value Shabazz more than you guys do and add another throw in ;)

Mr Swagtastic wrote:I can only speak from a Toronto stand point. It would be good to get Love in Toronto. The deal is pretty much the most we would be willing to move for him. Maybe it can be tweaked to get Jonas V in there by taking out Amir plus a pick or two.

Only thing with this deal is it would leave us depleted at the 2 or 3 depending on where we put Ross and I doubt there is a realistic SF target that we could get at the MLE level or with our 2 big buyout pieces (Hansbrough and Salmons)

DD/Amir
Love/Martin

You sure that's not the backbone of a deal you'd be willing to consider? It's a big risk on your end, but to me that looks like the value is there. Then you resign Lowry and try and find an upgrade at the wing.

Just my 2 cents, I think Toronto is in the running if they are willing to anti up.

I'm pretty sure Boston is going to full court press Kevin Love now.

#6 + #17 + Sullinger/Olynyk + Bass + Future 1st for Kevin Love + extension

EDIT: For the record, I'd be willing to trade anyone on the team sans Rondo in a Love trade. I'm not sure I'd add more picks though.

I can't deny that this trade is opportunistic. I just don't believe that DJ and Griffin will work against small ball elite teams. We need a change and it will be hard to get rid of Griffin. DJ had a career year, and whilst he may not fit on the Wolves, both he and JCraw would be significant trade assets. Its much better than getting nothing, should Love become a Laker for example.

Personally, I would rather trade Griffin and Dudley for Love and Brewer in addition to a 2014 pick swap (plus cap space), but I just don't see my fellow Clipper fans agreeing to any trade of Griffin.

Whilst Griffin and Love are both large PF's, I think they complement each others style. Griffin would move to C and Love would create space whilst still collecting rebounds.

Seems to me the deal with the Clippers is Griffin for Love. I think that's a better built team, and Love is actually a post scorer much more than guys like LMA/Bosh/most PFs really.

Personally I'm fine with Love for Griffin, as they are pretty similarly valuable players. I think Love is slightly better, but Griffin is a fan favorite.

I've felt that Ainge would go young if the Celts got a top-3 pick (and likely deal Rondo for more youth), but cash-in for a win-now move if they didn't. If Minny is looking for a pick package then Boston would be in the lead.

I pointed this out in another thread, what does Minnesota do at 6?

Gordon/Vonleh/Randle isn't a fit with Sullinger, Dieng and Pekovic on board, right? Do they reach? Maybe draft Marcus Smart and do a Ricky Rubio trade?
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

This is the deal that will be made. Love wants to go to Boston.....Love wants to go to Boston without its core ripped out......Love likes Ainge......Ainge and Love's agent have worked good in the past. Flip will take Sully - Bass and Bogans non guarteed contact and the picks.

This will get done.

You take BPA and then have 4 years to decide if you want to trade #6 (Smart) or Rubio. You don't trade Rubio just because you draft Smart.

So Marcus Smart seems like the best pick there?

Most potential and the BPA in my opinion.

Portland has nothing to offer directly but just might be willing to be a 3rd team.

Vonleh would be BPA to me. Elite physical tools, and we at least can develop some big men(Love, Dieng, Pek). I'd love to have Vonleh going forward, and think he could grow into an awesome player.

I'd personally take Gordon. Dieng, Gordon, Brewer, Shabazz, and Rubio with Pekovic, 13, Sullinger, and a whole bunch of expirings could be a really exciting, athletic running team.

Edit:

I will say, though, that I'm not really a fan of Smart.

My favorite part of this whole saga is the fact that the Celtics offer for Love without a guaranteed extension could still probably beat the Lakers offer for Love with the guarantee of an extension.

I for one am hoping the reports are true that KLove would play in Boston, and Danny Ainge moves in hard. I hope it's true for Minnesota fans too, cause Boston could offer a lot if he says he will sign here.

Minnesota fans have no desire to help Boston get another star from them. They would rather trade Love for a lump of coal and at least be able to sleep at night. They have not forgotten Glen Taylor forcing KG out (when he wanted to retire a Wolf), and McHale helping his buddy Ainge and not even getting one decent draft pick in that trade. That was only 7 years ago and the sting of that debacle is still very strong here. You have to realize Kevin McHale went from a U of M hero to an absolutely despised man in these parts. If Saunders dealt Love to the C's there would likely be threats against him and his family. People here do not have the stomach for it.

1. That is terrible management, that would get Flip Saunders fired real quickly for it. Thankfully GMs are more professional than that.

2. You got the 6th overall pick in the 2009 draft in that deal + Al Jefferson. May not have worked out, but those were some damn good assets.

Bennett, Waiters & Thompson?

They all have their flaws, but there is a lot of talent to play with for a soon to be rebuilding team.

Cavs build around Irving, Love & #1.
