Obviously you haven't watched any tape on Mirotic. Anyways, the point is moot, Minnesota shouldn't ask for Mirotic in a trade because he won't play for the wolves. It is frustrating because he is a damn good asset that isn't worth much in a trade for that reason.Sakuragi_ wrote:We didnt bring ricky from europe to play with more unathletic euro's.....

then Martin + Bazz + Shved + Pick + cash = expiring contract of Millsap? Are you kidding?
What do you think is fair then?
My impression was that the other guy thinks KMart, Love and Shved for Millsap and Harden is too good to be realistic for you guys.
If that's the case, let's take out the cash and Hummel.
Martin + Shved + Bazz OK?
Any kinda pick you could throw in?
Going through this, just wanted to say your values aren't that far off. I think Love > Martin by a good amount but we are in a worse position. And I think Milsap has a lot of value, so Martin/Shabazz/Shved/not our pick is worth him. I might suggest Houston's pick going over instead of ours.
Another thought is to trade out Shabazz and put in Budinger and the #13. I think you might be undervaluing Shabazz a bit.
Thx for the reply! Budinger and the #13 to substitute for Shabazz? Wow! Don't really want to get Budinger involved, since his contract would demand similar value back and make things complicated. Shabazz on the other hand is on his rookie deal, easier to fit in. Love > Martin? You meant Harden I suppose? Harden is definitely better than Klay and Taj and most likely anyone drafted after #5. Mirotic is an unknown, risky.
How does this look?
Asik + cash to Atl
Shabazz + Shved + Minny 2nd round pick to Atl
Millsap to Min
Harden to Min
Love and KMart to Hou
DMC to Hou
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

If Cavs want to give up #1 pick for Love then we'd have to probably give up our #13th pick as well. I have no problem with that.

I like idea of sending love to Cleveland. Send us the #1 & #33 and have them just absorb his contract!!
Um no. We keep pick and they pay for love. And I think love would play with Irving.

Preach brother. If we take another rebuild i'm jumping on whatever team Love ends up on(As long as it's not the Cavs)
I've been a hard core wolves fan since 2010
So not even half the length of the playoff drought

Sac wants a vet for their 8th pick. Could we talk them into kmart for 8th pick? Straight up? I'd rather hit restart with him then watch him start again.

Or send love to the suns for their three picks this year and both next year. Fleece the suns. And we can run ow taking payroll back. I like this better than getting lee or Gibson and being five games shy of the 8th seed. Maybe we need a whole true new identity.

I would love it if we could rape the Kings like that, but no team would give up the 8th pick for Kmart

Well I've always been a wolves fan because of KG(that's how Minny became my team). I just started being able to watch games consistently in the 09-10 season when I discovered streams/realgm and later league pass. That wasn't even the point I was trying to make. All I was trying to say is that the west is ruthless and if you're happy with mediocrity and first round exits, that's fine. I want to set my sights higher and the only way I see of doing that is making a dramatic change and drafting well. If anyone's got any ideas where we can get there without this while still being competitive and making the playoffs then I'd be all for it but marquee free agents aren't coming and you need stars to get to that level.

#1(Wiggins) + Waiters + TT + Varejao for Love + 13 (Stauskas)

My point though was that when you've been a hardcore fan for at least the 10 year playoff drought, the visions of grandeur diminish. You just want to see the team competitive because it's been so long.

Do we want those players at all? Why not take the salary relief instead. ?

How do you define "competitive?" Would you say that the team this year was "competitive?" Because if we trade Love for the Bulls or Warriors trade packages, I expect that results similar to this year are about the best we could hope for.

That's what I was thinking too. Varejo seems redundant salary even if it's expiring. I do think Cleveland would be interested as they desperately want to get into the playoffs and Love would be a huge step. Even if they can't lure LeBron they could resign Deng and have enough to make a run. They also seem like they would be willing to gamble on a trade for Love without the extension thinking they can convince him to stay. I wouldn't trade the 13 in a Love trade though.

Exactly what I was thinking with Cleveland. If u want love it will be #1 and maybe #33 for love straight up. And we will use that 15 million to tweak our roster. And our hardest part is who do we draft. ...

I want to see playoffs, I'm less concerned with championships right now.

Varejao is partially guaranteed for $4 million. Thompson is an expiring also. We would have just under $19 million in expiring contracts that could either be used in trades or jump into the 2015 free agent game. I guess it depends on which year you want the money. This year's free agent class seems pretty meh to me.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
We'll after u pay #1 and #13. That be a big chunk of loves salary already. So then we just keep moving bad contracts and make room for others. Maybe trade 13 for two lower picks and get three guys to groom this next year.
There we go. Trade for #1 ! from Cleveland. For love
Draft one of the studs. Trade 13 to Chicago for 16 & 19 or for two suns picks.
Draft two solid players.
Draft two- four European guys in second round who can develop for a year or three in euro leagues with our four second round picks
Roll into season at about 60 million with 3 rookies and two sophomores.
Trade deadline be super active to move expiring contracts for picks.
(If can sneak sacs pick at 8 for a player. Try. At least try. Kmart and two second rounders? )
And spend the summer trying to move pek, Kmart, and chase. And then roll out fresh looking Rubio leading team. I'm ok with this. Cu I can see progress. Right now I see stalemate

Danny Ainge just told us that he would be open to trading for a high caliber player in their last year without an agreement to an extension.
(Boston Sports Radio hosts who regularly interview Ainge)
Not exactly subtle. Thought you guys might be interested in that, considering there's been a lot of doubters claiming Love will just be able to handpick his destination by saying which teams he'd opt in with or be willing to sign with long-term (even if he can't do it until July 1st, 2015). Having Ainge in on him regardless of extension is good news for you guys as it ensures Love can't just pull a Carmelo and choose where he's going to be traded, if he's traded.
Though he seems like he might be giving you guys more options than the past superstars anyways (with the recent CHI+GS inclusions on top of NY+LA), which bodes well for you guys getting a bidding war going.
If you want some unfortunate news from the interview, he said they "hoped to have a better asset to trade, but ended up where we expected". Sounds like he was very open to moving a top 3 pick even, just without as much included as you'd get for the 6th pick.

Well it is definitely nice to have the Celtics trade as a baseline for a Love trade. Would really hope Smart is there.
