I would rather have him than Smart thats for sure. He and Dipo would form an outstanding backcourt for years to come.

His inability to be an EXPLOSIVE athlete bothers me a little.

May I ask why? Lance Stephenson and Westbrook have shown how much damage a player with a high motor+ emotions + skills can do in the NBA.

He is not explosive? He looks really damm fast and quick to me. He is not going to jump like Vince Carter but that doesn't bother me.

I doubt he works out for Cleveland. Hopefully, he also declines Philly's workout invite, but he's also got ties to their coach, so out of respect, he may go.

Sorry, I meant vertically. Yea, he's long and extremely quick, but he's not someone who can get up and dunk. I'm assuming it won't be a problem, though, but it's just something that bothers me personally.

Dante can most certainly dunk the ball, he has a ridiculous 6'10 wingspan with a 8'7 standing reach. Vert is incredibly overrated when talking about prospects and doesn't really indicate anything. Doug Mcdermott had a higher vert than Blake Griffin for example.

I believe that can be fixed through plyometric exercises. We don't need him to fly over anyone. His height advantage alone which allows him to see over defenders is already a big advantage (pun intended, I guess).

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
Still on Cloud 9 after landing the 4th pick. No worry of us being tempted to go in another direction. Exum has been my man for us for some time, so I'm just tickled silly. The backcourt of Exum/Oladipo is so dreamy to me. It's pretty much impecable. They compliment each other perfectly. Now it's just a matter of time of letting them grow together.
I said this before, but don't be surprised if he ends up playing SG for us. Both are interchangeable, so it will be an interesting development to follow. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

Don't let it. First off he ain't bad. Secondly, his speed with the ball makes him elite in that category. If you're talking about his vertical jump, then you're missing the point. His length for the position already sets him above the pack and last I checked we have a guy named Oladipo who is pretty explosive. The way they compliment each other can really set us apart from the rest of the NBA.

Yea, I understand. Thing is I've always wanted a PG like Westbrook. Someone who is just so ridiculously dominating that he'll just FLY right over you when he needs to. A basketball fetish? LOL.
Surprises aside, I;m thrilled with having Exum. We will have a great backcourt one day.

he can get up..sure the competition was elementary school kids but still he got up there . with nba trainers/conditioning he can at least be a solid athlete with his height. plus he strengh is his dribbling/passing ability

Oladipo is our Westbrook my friend.

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
Let's just hope that Exum is not taken ahead of us.
Boy, it turns out that the tanking we did in the last few weeks really helped. I was worried about Utah, Boston, and L.A. losing more than us.

How exactly do they complement each other? IMO, we now have someone who can handle the ball, put on a few moves and MAYBE break down his opponent and get to the basket.
The biggest thing I see with an Exum-Oladipo back court is that we'll be able to play Oladipo primarily the way the Hoosiers did, of course with some adjustments. Constant slashing and cutting with an ever improving skill set...Wade-lite...or too soon?

We already have a Westbrook type player in Dipo and I am not a fan of duplicating abilities. We need to build a team that compliments each other.
