I was thinking about that too. I like when Cleveland fans try to rip on Detroit for being horrible and then you look at Cleveland and it's pretty much the same thing. Only difference is, we've won some championships the past 20+ years and their teams haven't. They suck.

I personally don't subscribe to the conspiracy angle. But Detroit has certainly had some bad luck in regards to the lottery.

Someone already mentioned the times in which Detroit got pushed back in the draft when others moved up. They also have seen some seriously good luck fall into their central division rivals laps.

2004: Chicago gets #3
2005: Milwaukee gets #1
2006: Chicago gets #2 (owned NYK's pick)
2008: Chicago gets #1
2011: Cleveland gets #1 (owned LAC's pick)
2013: Cleveland gets #1
2014: Cleveland gets #1, Milwaukee gets #2

During that time frame Detroit has never picked higher than #7. The lottery balls seem to be fans of 3/5 of the centrl division teams.

The irony is the two teams who haven't gotten the bounces have the two best building blocks in the division.

Yeah, the lottery has been nothing but unkind to the Pistons

If only we had the league's "next great player" walk as he was entering his prime....

"Do you think Cleveland is cool?" For that alone I have a hard time hating JoNo.

Ready for this:

In 2010 we finished 1 game behind Washington and tied with Philly. Washington won the #1 pick and Philly won the #2 pick.

In 2011 we finished just ahead of the Clippers. That Clippers pick was the one they traded to Cleveland that ended up being Kyrie.

In 2012 we didn't get jumped and got Drummond.

In 2013 we finished tied with Washington. We won the coin flip to get the #7 set of ping pong balls. The #8 set ended up yielding the #3 pick. For all the heat the Cavs get, the Wizards landed in the top 3 in 2010, 2012 & 2013.

In 2014 you know what happened.

So for those who don't believe all of this is orchestrated, we missed out on 3 #1 picks and a #3 pick by a combined 6 games one way or the other.

Some of these picks would have been cool but even one of these would have screwed up the perfection that occurred in 2012 when we got our franchise.

Drummond is everything

Dumars just took a big dump on the Pistons fans as he made his departure and said "you aren't getting no lotto pick."
