Lakers don't have enough assets to trade. Bigger question is, will free agents come to LA and the answer is hell yes unless the question is will the champion contender makers come, then the answer is no, because we don't have a coach and kobe is in act 3 of rocky vs Ivan Drago but we're not sure which one he is yet

I've heard rumors Dante Exum's agent, aka Kobe Bryant's agent, has been telling teams Dante won't play for them.

Random sports talk radio hosts. They mentioned it a few times on ESPN LA and Fox Sports LA over the past few weeks.

When will the Magic learn that we always eventually get their top 5 picks?

The only way I see it happening is if there are a couple players that want to play together and maybe want to play with Kobe for his final few seasons... They might both say they will only play with the Lakers and something might happen.

But that's extremely unlikely...

IF Exum agents leak the scenario of playing in euroleague or going back to Auzzie it might deter some teams if he is projected at 4th or 5th. No team wants to wait 2-3years for Exum with a pick that high, Orl had a taste of that with Franz Vasquez once already dont think they take that chance again.

At this point I wonder if to free agents Kobe seems more like that 58 year old Alpha Male who gets pissy nobody passes him the ball.

I'm sure he does seem that way to some of them, but there seems to be a group of them that really love him too...

The problem is that those guys are getting a little long in the tooth too... Like Melo for one...

I mean, how good are we going to be if the 2 vets that want to force their way to LA are like Melo and DWill?

Above average at best.

Which is why a guy like Exum is really appealing... A young up and comer with fire AND a desire to play with Kobe.
That has to mean something.

Many players have that type of desire and have idolized Kobe.I hope it's not the external efforts of being in a big town, and getting instant stardom isn't the reason for Exum interest in LA.

Exum is going to the Magic. The Magic also get our 2017 pick.

I think we need to either trade up -or resign Gasol, free agent acquisition and trade the #7 pick for old washed up vets like dare I say it Pierce and Garnett to form the old school team and get enough vets for cheap that we can compete even w/ injuries.

Nash/Marhsall
Kobe/Young
Melo/Pierce
Garnett
Gasol

I think the right group can come together if they all have a chip on their shoulder.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

I keep hearing bball espn insiders say this on radio and on tv. Lots of blogs are putting this out. However, whos to say the Lakers wont flip him to the TWolves for love? Also at the 7th pick wouldnt he be loosing money. No way the celtics pass on him.
