At #2? That's ridiculous.
Yeah that is one of the more absurd things I have heard on here in awhile.

A good/great GM has to be able to draft/trade/sign the right free agents.
Hammond is simply over his head when he deals with other GM's or agents. Kohl may have given the win now order but signing Gooden, what we got for Bogut, etc... are on Hammond.

I'm confused here. If you believe Exum to be BPA, why do you take Parker? It's not like we don't have a need at PG either. Is it for marketing or something?

Where would you have Oladipo on your board this year, with and without his NBA stint already considered? For me, I like both players but clearly in that second tier prospects who though they may do all the right little things, clearly aren't and don't have the potential to help turn around a franchise.

I think the only way he busts is from injury. That's it.
Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Pretty much. This is an important pick just as much for public perception as it is basketball. In a game dominated by dynamic wings, there are two nationally known ones in this draft. This is why I don't think Embiid will be considered at 2 either. If we have our choice of the two it'll be Wiggins (doubtful). If Wiggins goes number 1 it'll be Parker (likely).
Not saying I agree with it, but I get it. That's why a part of me was hoping if we didn't get 1 we would get 3 or 4 and we wouldn't have to justify taking Exum, who IMO is going to be tremendous.

This is a miserable line of thinking that should get any GM canned on the spot if abided by.

I agree but I can just hear it now. Casual f*cktard fans complaining how we passed on Parker for some foreign kid. Especially because Exum will be a project while Parker is easily the top ROTY candidate because of the almighty ppgz statistic.

That might be dated info from pre-lottery when people thought the Lakers might be in play. I think Embiid won't withhold info from the Bucks, but it is possible.
