He's in my top 3 of the SG's I think we should get. He and Hairston could step in immediately and play. James Young (who I also like) may not come out the gates playing as well as the other two, but he could have a potentially better career years down the line. I wouldnt be mad if we got Harris, he's a safe pick and I really think he's a Cho kinda player.

This thread reeks of 'The Cody Zeller Thread' of yesteryear

injury prone players are never safe picks

If we draft Gary Harris, he'll have a sore groin that'll cause him to miss summer league, and then a shoulder injury that'll require surgery during training camp that'll set his NBA debut back to late December/early January. That sound about right

I wouldn't mind if we drafted him, as I think he can be a very good player, but boy is he injury proned.

i am adding harris to my list of players that i do not want. that list currently sits at 3: harris, saric and gordon. he just doesnt seem like enough of an upgrade to henderson, neal and taylor to really get me excited. undersized, injury prone, not great in isos... we have enough high character smart guys who play defense. we need to add a player who has an elite skill or elite size for their position.

Wasnt high on him to begin with and those combine measurements killed it. The last thing we need is a 6'3 SG.

Agree that Harris and Gordon selections would each be huge disappointments. Will reserve judgement on Saric until we hear how he performs in workouts.

True story: Gerald Henderson and Gary Harris have never been seen in the same room at the same time. They have the same initials. The same shooting percentages. Everybody on this board wants GH gone. Wait, which GH? Is there any proof they're not actually the same person?

Eh it's the 6'3" SG with average length, inconsistent offense, inefficient shooting, and overrated defense that's always injured. What's to like?

If Harris' defense is overrated then I hate to hear what the rest of the SG class' defense would be classified as.

I'm not saying we should draft him at 9, and I know he's public enemy number one around here (for some reason), but unlike most of these guys he can make an impact on both sides of the ball.

He'd be an uninspired pick, sure, but he'd bring much needed shooting while fitting into the defensive culture.

My only knock on Harris is his injury problems, if he wasn't injury prone i wouldn't mind taking him at all

Injury prone, poor man's Raja Bell. Not an upgrade to Hendo. I'd rather start Viking than draft Harris.

Lol. Can understand not wanting Harris, but his defense is definitely not overrated.
