How about we actually finish the last one? We still got the draft. Part of my team building and so plans was predicated on getting a high lottery pick to add to my team (see Sig). Lets at least hold a draft lottery for th 14 lotto teams (just like they do for real and do the lottery).

Then you guys can start a new BAT.

Come on...someone point me to the last BAT thread. I'll even go through it and figure out who does and doesn't have their picks anymore, setup a lottery system, run it live and plot out the draft board.

With the way things turned out, at best I'll be looking to add Wiggins to my team, at worst, Dante Exum.

Maybe we can wrap up the last one as we get this one started? Would be interesting to start the offseasond draft prior to the real NBA draft. We can compare where rookies go in relation to each other in our draft versus the actual NBA draft.

Co-sign doing a draft with the old teams...I got jobbed in that sim because it didn't realize Serge Ibaka was a BEAST, but that means I'll just have to win the lottery and land another monster.

I say in this one we go back to the old rules (with adding in these rookies as available guys to draft)...if it ain't broke don't fix it. Team stacked up a little with draft picks and we never really finished.

Ill get started. Should have things ready to go for a lottery drawing by the weekend. Basically we'll take each of the teams that failed to make the playoffs, assign them in reverse record order to a real NBA team equivalent, in the same reverse record order....then run it through one of the many mock lottery result generators to determine the top 3 teams, then everyone else left falls in line just like the real NBA draft. Then we pick a day to start the BAT draft and give each GM whatever, a couple hours, to make their pick and we do the entire 1 round draft.

Two concerns I have; we can't clutter up the stickies with two separate BAT's...not a big deal though, I think there are enough dedicated heads to get the BAT thread upped as it is falling.

The other though, is worrying that if the BAT 10 takes longer to close out than expected, we may lose the interest of newcomers or guys we had to work to recruit. It's the offseason though, so there should be more interest than the midseason one. There's already some enthusiasm here :nod:

Actually, typing it out and thinking about it...we could probably start recruiting.

I was thinking about posting a thread. There is some downtime. Basketball offseason is close to starting and us wannabee GM's want to get a crack again of putting together our version of a team.

I was getting the itch haha.

I would suggest holding off on recruiting until we have the draft for the old BAT up. That way that itself would be a draw. Then as the draft is winding down we can start the new BAT thread. The draft shouldn't take too long. If any GM of a team from the old bat isn't around (or interested anymore) we'll just use the DX mock and pick the next best player available (or we can have a volunteer that will make draft picks for any GM that is skipped) for them and move on. We should be able to finish the draft in 2-3 days.

Depends? Is your teams future basically hanging at the whim of your best player? If so then absolutely.

Pretty much...Durant was putting up like 40ppg, got hurt then my team won like 3 of there next 30 or something like that
