Shelly Sterling to negotiate sale

Disgraced Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has agreed to allow his wife, Shelly, to negotiate a forced sale of the team, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.

Shelly Sterling and her lawyers have been negotiating with the NBA since her husband was banned for life by commissioner Adam Silver on April 29. While the league has yet to formally accept this arrangement, sources said if she is willing to sell the team in its entirety, this could bring a startlingly quick end to what appeared to be a protracted legal battle.

It's probably a great time to sell that team for them. Save tons of money by ending the lawsuit and making some billion dollars out of a basketball team sale.. what a sad life

Although I doubt they would, NBA can still low ball him citing reduction in value due to reduce ad sales, etc.

Good! Hope that will be the case. I hope the new owner will get to keep most of the players.. I like that team in the West (as long as they don't get in our way, and they haven't so far). They are fun to watch.

Thanks, you too! Hey, I don't know anyone on this forum, but I assume that we are (mostly) Heat fans so I don't usually go around introducing myself. I am just a random Heat fan. 8-)

If this is true...wow. My initial shock was at the dumb bimbo asking for 25 million because of traumatic penis pics, but if he really told her all those things, holy crap is he is an idiot too.

just sounds like a terribly unskilled gold digger who is trying to embarrass him. if i were him i'd drag it out in court and let her drown in court fees.

Like I told the GB, he can't take that to court or else he'd have no control over sale after he lost the court battle. Silver would bankrupt that franchise by allowing the whole team to be free agents which rips up the value, THEN sell it and give that money to Sterling. Maybe not as eloquent as that but the idea would be to make the franchise not worth a damn before he sold it.

Not to mention that the franchise could be worth 1 billion dollars right NOW or much less if you decide to put up a fight and the NBA decides to de-franchise or contract the Clippers (both doable).

Sterling is 80 years old. Cash-in your billion and go buy a small island somewhere!

Now OKC are saying Ibaka might be ready to play by Sunday :(

Along with Paul George lying about his concussion... I don't understand why NBA teams have to be so shady about their players injuries... too many "miracle recoveries" make the league look like a lamely scripted WWE or something.

Lame lame lame :nonono:

That's actually a good thing for us, I want OKC-Spurs to go 7 games with triple OT.

I know.. I am just lamenting about all this stupid suspense and drama caused by injuries... just shut the **** up and play!

I personally think that OKC will still put up a good fight against Spurs with/without Ibaka. It doesn't look good after first 2 games, but one game can swing the momentum and we've seen that happen before.

1- He's a SF that can't guard real bigs, and his 3 point shot is totally broken. Not what we need at all.
2- He's a free agent this summer and going to get paid, nobody is buying him out after signing him long term.
