Yao Ming Working With Chinese Investors On Bid For Clippers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 23, 2014 6:54 pm

The Los Angeles Clippers will be bid upon by a number of parties, with Yao Ming now being mentioned as a possibility.

Yao is reportedly putting together a group of Chinese investors to make a serious run at purchasing the Clippers.

The Clippers are also expected to receive interest from Magic Johnson/Guggenheim Partners, Larry Ellison, David Geffen and others.

Yao should buy the Clippers and Magic should buy the Lakers, since Jim Buss has no idea how to run a team anyway.

Wow talk about a goldmine idea. The Clippers fan base would increase threefold from Chinese fans just because of Yao owning part of the team.

The Clipps would definitely benefit from this. Yao and TMac were constant starters for Houston during the All-Star games. The Clippers fan base would **** in size.
Kobe Bryant was asked who he feels is the toughest opponent to guard in the NBA. Instead of picking OKC's Kevin Durant, Bryant went with Portland’s Brandon Roy.

"Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game."

On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

Will they move the team to China in the future or will that be forbidden?

I would be a Clippers fan after the Rockets if Yao bought the team...Donald Sterling is gonna make a killing off this sale regardless of who buys it....My guess he could get $2bil for this franchise.

I think he meant to quote Sterling, because he used the racial slur.

So Yah would probably have as much ownership stake, if his group of investors bought the team, as Jay Z did with the nets. But just like Jay Z it would probably seem like he was a majority owner.

Few would doubt that Sterling said that, but some hateful words don't need to be repeated. Many of us will be perfectly happy when he and his comments just go away for good.

Maybe it's just a coincidence or a sign of the times, but I'll bet the NBA is happy that names mentioned in bidding for the clippers include Oprah Winfrey (so I've heard), Magic Johnson, Yao Ming, and David Geffen. A little more ownership diversity, or is this just part of the show?

Why don't they move Clippers, cause LA doesn't need 2 teams.
