I'm gonna play the **** out of them in next years FM, if they can also keep a hold of Firmino and Volland *fap*

Can't believe I would say this once in my life but Preetz is doing business this offseason.

Stocker, Plattenhardt, Hegeler and maybe Ostrzolek.
Also picked up Cigerci's buying option.

That's good work.

A club like Hertha should be a contender. They are kinda like the Knicks.

When you play in Berlin you should win championships. It's, what, the 3rd or 4th best city in Europe(behind London, Paris, Rome)?

Berlin has a huge amount of debts, thanks to Dieter Hoeneß and his outragous spending in the early 2000's and are lucky that some investor spend about 60 mil euros this summer to buy a share of the club.

They certainly could've & should've done better since the reunification.
Debt is a problem but it's beyond ridiculous that the top club from a 3.5 million city continuously struggles to find 75.000 people to go to a soccer match.
Against teams like Freiburg, Hoffenheim, Mainz, Augsburg, Wolfsburg the stadium is usually half empty. Against the likes of Schalke, Gladbach or Hamburg they barely make the 60k. Sellouts are only Bayern & Dortmund.

There were hundreds of thousands on the streets of Berlin watching the WC games in 2006. Doubt that wouldve happened if Berlin wasnt a football city.

So you just have no clue what you're talking about in general, not just when talking about Neymar I see.

The problem is that Berlin doesn't have a top class team, we're too anti-commercial to become that team while Hertha are too heartless, their history inspires little love and their stadium is too big to have good atmosphere, and with the Olympic track even if it is somehow packed the atmosphere is still lame. Not to mention their stadium is a trek out from the city center. That's why they don't have a huge fanbase, add in how poorly they've been run for most of the past two decades and fans just have no reason to bond with this flat team.

Berlin is a football city but Hertha's not that well liked and teams like Union Berlin and even BFC Dynamo are drawing a lot of fans.
That's the negative of having a city that was divided for over 40 years, while two other clubs gained a lot of following in the east(Union, BFC) and with the suburbs/region not really caring for Hertha, given that they haven't been successfull(except for a couple of years during the Hoeneß era were they killed their financials) at all for a long time.

Yep, if our city had been unified maybe over a third of the population wouldn't have connections to union and BFC, then it is possible that hertha's incompetence over the past decades and their awful stadium wouldn't be so crippling. But it is what it is and few people are really diehard Hertha fans like we are for the Eiserne or those scumbags who go to the fights that BFC hosts are. Limited support with awful management will kill a squad in any city, just ask Fulham.

Fulham plays in a city with loads of famous clubs.

And in West London you have Chelsea, QPR, Brentford.

This has always puzzled me as the only Dynamo Dresden fans I know of are people who were young glory hunters during their dominance in the 70s, before their squad was sent to Berlin to form BFC, so why are you a Dresden supporter, especially now a days were their fans are every bit as awful as frankfurt's fans or as had as Braunschweig and Hannover fans got during the derby this year. Granted their hools are no worse than the other awful fans, but still, I don't see what about that club is appealing at all.

Dresden is where I was born and spent the first few years of my life. Granted, I don't really remember those years of my life, I still feel a connection with the city and, as a result, the soccer club as well.

Ah, makes sense. Didn't mean to be a dick, was just a really odd choice for someone if you didn't have that kind of personal connection to the city.

You're good, you didn't come off as a dick, I understand that Dresden really isn't a very appealing club to root for, for an outsider.

Apparently, Grosskreutz urinated in a hotel lobby after the Cup Final? Imagine the outcry in North America if an NBA player did that. First the kebab fight, now this. :D

After Sebastian Jung, Aaron Hunt is probably headed to Wolfsburg, too.

Now all they need is a class striker, a CB and a competent coach to be set.

Naldo and Knoche were very good with Gustavo protecting them. They need a striker badly, and could use another high end attacking mid so hunt can play a connecting role between Gustavo and the attacking band, but unless they sell Klose they're fine at CB.
