Yao Ming refuted a report that he is working to put together a group to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers when the team ultimately becomes for sale.
“I just heard about it in the morning my time,” Yao said Saturday via email. “I really don’t know where this news came from.”
ESPN reported that Yao was putting together a group of Chinese investors to bid for the Clippers.
Yao owns the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.
