@kilroy I agree with you man about it would be irresponsible to not acknowledge that a pitbull is a dangerous breed. They were created to do three things which is pulling, fighting and jumping. They were brought over from the UK to the states in 1800's I believe. Where parents who worked had them to watch and protect their children. Hence giving the pitbulls another nickname as the Nanny dog. Which in the end result is what this breed can become with proper training and guidance. I do not suggest this dog for people who don't have time to invest in them.

What really makes a pit so dangerous is there high threshold for pain, unlimited stamina and the determination of a raging bull. Pitbulls are associated with being too territorial, too obsessive, too possessive. So all the wrong things. But you could use that same philosophy and give him a job and he'll do it with the same determination.

R.I.P to Kilroy and Danny's dogs. May they rest in paradise

Yeah Kali... I think we're basically saying the same things... My thing isn't so much about the breed per-se, it's more about the message we're getting lately that everybody was wrong and that Pit Bulls aren't the problem, their owners are... Because you can't be a good owner unless you know what you're getting into...

I don't know man... I just keep thinking what it must be like to get a call that you're kid was killed at college. Any college, but especially UCSB... I felt like nothing bad could happen when I went there...

That said, I'm hearing he had Aspergers which can make it hard for you to relate to other people... And judging from his dad's statements, maybe there was a little self-righteous indignation in his upbringing that made him look for a guilty party instead of in the mirror... Who knows... It's just a tragedy on all levels. So much waste...

Another mass shooting; another bunch of gun nuts saying it's a conspiracy to take their rights to bear arms.
I'm not against guns. In fact, I want to own a 9 milli someday. That's right, a 9mm, not some rapid firing uzi.
Why do ordinary citizens need automatic weapons?

The guy had a 9mm... And not an automatic weapon. He also stabbed 3 people...

He may not have been able to kill as many people without a gun, but he still could have killed...

I just have a problem with people using something like this as a soap box for their political agendas... On either side.

You're right. I did read he stabbed his roommates, but I hadn't read about the gun he brandished.
Btw, I also dislike political debates, but I wanna say that rhe reason people use something like this to express their political agendas is because there aren't too many other appropriate times to express them. Tragedies like this bring out strong opinions that not everyone agrees with.

I can see that. Some ex-army guy with PTSD after returning from Iraq went on a rifle battle with the cops at my old university in Missouri a year ago. Luckily it was during spring break. Here's the video of the police chase

That entire route on I-44 was safe as hell for most of the time but you never know when someone might just lose it.

For the most part I think the whole idea of people living in isolation kind of weird in America. I rarely see people get outside their house and interact with other people in any neighborhood I lived in. Where I grew up it was common for the neighbors to regularly meet and talk to each other multiple times a day. It might get intrusive sometimes but most of the time any kind of human contact can calm another person down when he is on an emotional slope.

Loneliness and lack of human interaction can truly **** someone up in the head and increases sociopathic tendencies.

I went to a ramen shop in Little Tokyo Downtown LA tonight. Daikokuya.
It was apparently the number 5 yelp restaurant in the U.S in 2010 and 2011

I got their specialty ramen. I swear it was the best broth that I have ever tried. and the pork was some black pig which was super lean and god damn delicious.
I highly recommend it.

I went to a whiskey bar with my boss in salt lake and just ordered a nice beer to try for the 1st time (Double Jack Firestone Walker Double IPA) because I don't enjoy whiskey yet. Figured a nice beer was the next manly option.

drinking whiskey isn't much different from drinking wine or even beer

it's all about before, during, after

enjoy the aroma (before), taste it by sipping it (during) and savor the aftertaste (after)

if any of the three don't tickle your fancy, try a different one

Aroma is an underrated aspect of drinks, it really does add to the taste.
