If your franchise player is a PG, I think it is basically ideal for your other franchise player to be a C, if you have the luxury of choosing. You can find good wings - you can't find game-changing 2-way centers. Plus, if they are really serious about trying to woo Lebron (which I think is a stupid way to operate, but maybe they will), it makes even more sense to take the C over a Parker or Wiggins.

Basically, if Embiid is healthy, he is a Cav (if they keep the pick). We need to move on to determining who our top prospect is of the remaining three.

Problem is that you won't have your franchise PG if you don't start making the playoffs. Do they have time for Embiid to develop?

That's literally our only hope, and that's why if they take anyone not named Embiid at #1 it will be Parker and not Wiggins.

But I think Embiid is enough of a game changer from day 1, along with improvement by Kyrie, that they will make the playoffs in a weak eastern conference. I think that Kyrie would probably see the ridiculous potential the duo of him and Embiid would possess, almost regardless of what happens. And in any event, in the "franchise player hierarchy," I would put Embiid above Kyrie, anyway.

That would be a dream come true if they took Parker #1 overall. Leave us with my top 3 choices intact.

I would have zero issue taking Embiid.....ok a tiny issue....it will likely be sight unseen / health unverified. Will we see medical records? Will he work out for us? Would any team below us get either? I still probably take him regardless as you cannot pass up a guy like that. Yi all over again, but different. Embiid doesn't suck. Somebody please tell him we have a lake AND a river.

I think Parker could be a monster off ball. Honestly I think that's his best asset that will translate to the NBA.

We've got Gery Woelfel and perhaps a third of casual Bucks fans insisting Parket is the number one player in this draft and it isn't even close for them.

That's the great thing about this board. Collectively we are always anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks to 2 months to 2 years ahead of the curve on self evident Bucks or NBA truths.

Once Embiid's medical records leak showing a clean back, he'll be consensus number one by a considerable margin, even among the casual fans, and the Cleveland posters will be over here talking about how they won't trade the pick even if we offer number 2 and Giannis.

-Kyrie is a risk to leave if they suck again this year. I think Wiggins has the bigger impact in Year 1 and is has less injury risk

If you're concerned about your PG's defense, the rim-protecting 7'1 center is far more impactful than a lock-down wing defender. Basically disagree with your other two points too (bigger year 1 impact and not requiring the ball in hands with respect to Embiid).

The defense and play without ball in hands are reasons against Parker and likely Exum.

The main reason for Wiggins over Embiid would be the injury risk + taking longer to adjust. Almost all bigs struggle with fouls early on, easpcially those with only a few years experience

I don't even see Exum in contention for #1, given the presence of Kyrie. Everything points to Embiid under any normal circumstances. The only feasible way they would pass on Embiid is because they feel the need to win now, and feel that Embiid will be a couple years away from true impact. If that is their thinking, then I think it will be Parker, because Parker is far more developed and ready to contribute than Wiggins IMO, while still providing plenty of upside such that they won't feel guilty for playing it too short-sited.

Of course, it is possible that Wiggins could impress in his workouts for them, while maybe Embiid has a bad day, and they see too much upside in Wiggins to pass on him, but I just doubt that will happen.

Edit: I should add that even if the medicals don't show anything chronic, they could just be scared away by the "big man injury risk." I can see that varying between GMs to some extent depending on how risk averse each GM is. That would be ideal for us, as it would give us the chance to take that risk, and I think we would take it.

The fact Woelfel and casaul fans strongly prefer Parker further makes me scared of us drafting him.

My dream is CLE taking him #1 to leave us with my Top 3 choices. I also like the fact that the others are perhaps a little less NBA ready. Giannis + #2 + 2015 High Pick would be our best possible chance at a Champ caliber core if all thing turn out well.

For those crying about Embiid moving back up the board, I am too. But that said Jordan and Barkley came out of the Haleem draft. Wade came out of the LeBron draft. We just need to pick the right guy after Embiid.

Speaking of the casual fan, how much more fan hype will there be (right or wrong) heading into next season with Wiggins aboard, as opposed to Embiid? I'm guessing a lot.

Mary Schmitt article.....

Maybe the Wiggy hype train will roll into Cleveland and they will consider him over Embiid.

We are getting one of these two guys, which is outstanding.

Not necessarily. We will have the choice of taking one of those two, though. 8-)

Also, PP, don't let yourself dream too much. Embiid is going #1.

The more I read and hear about Embiid, the more he impresses. You guys are gonna be lucky to grab him at #2. His potential is off the charts.

If the Sixers do trade up to #1, I think it would only be for Wiggins.

I have been watching alot of the scouting videos that show strengths and weaknesses. Embiid has huge potential but also has alot to learn. Wiggins doesn't use his left and needs some strength to go with his freakish athleticism. Even with the D problems, I am liking Parker the best.

It's definitely a red flag that whoefel is so pro parker.

I want wiggins but won't be upset with any of them. I just hope everyone has some patience and realistic expectations with whoever it is. There will be ups and downs early.

If Kyler is right then this entire debate is for not. Exum is our guy unless owners override.

The draft is over a month away and this is coming from someone not related to the organization. There is no way that it has been determined that he is "our guy" yet.

No, it really isn't. He could have been rebuilding muscle he lost when he was on the shelf. Maybe he's never really had an optimal strength routine before. He's definitely 20 years old, 7 feet tall, and a special athlete. It doesn't even seem weird to me.

You can gain that much weight in two months. At his weight, if his body fat was below 8 percent, or depending upon how fat gets added, 9 percent, he'd end the "bulk" still at a body fat percentage where he wouldn't look doughy. (EDIT: Which is why a lots of people, gym-bros and otherwise, think adding lots of muscle in a short time is possible.)

Fifteen pounds of muscle in 10 weeks? 1.5 pounds of muscle a week? That's not done naturally.

You may have been told it's not possible, and you're obviously not about to hear this since you didn't the last time I said it, so this is for everybody else: it is possible, it is done naturally, and I know this because I have first hand experience.

After all the pro Jabari stuff the last 48 hours, I had to go back and watch Wiggins DX videos as I started to doubt Wiggins now.

Glad I did. Wiggins is ridiculous. Seemed to me he could do all the offensive stuff Jabari does, but because he doesn't load up, pump fake, etc like Jabari does it almost looks too easy for the viewer.

Take Wiggins off Kansas where Self had him out at the 3 point line and get him into the NBA and he's going to explode IMO.

It's not possible, it's not done naturally, and you're mistaking the SWOLE of glycogen, water and added fat storage for muscle.

no you don't

no trying to be a jerk, but it's virtually impossible

and even if embiid was "out of shape", he was still in very good shape. the better shape you're in, the harder and harder it gets to pack on muscle.

eating clen and trening hard is the only way to pack on that kind of muscle that fast
