Would you trade the 7th pick for Nerlens Noel?

Post#1 » by tviper » Sun May 25, 2014 12:32 am

Hypothetical: CLE takes Wiggins or Parker, MIL takes the other one, leaving Embiid on the board for PHI. PHI wants to move Noel before taking Embiid.

If PHI offered Noel to LAL for PHI's choice at 7, should they take it?

A year later and not playing a game the whole season would naturally bring his trade value down. If they threw in a couple of those 2nd rounders, I'd think about it.

Noel went 6th overall in one of the worst drafts ever.

We have the 7th pick in one of the best drafts in recent history.

Yes, but the reason he went 6th is because everyone knew he wasn't playing until 2014-15. Now that he is (presumably) healthy, doesn't that change things?

He's really young and it'll be a gamble. But I'd rather get one of these other players in this draft that'll be there in our range

if smarts or randle isn't there at 7th, I do the trade. I don't like Vonley knock of low iq and I don't like Gordon lack of shooting.

Hell NO, I wasn't that high on dude when he was in college. Limited offensive game, got all his hype off media trying to make him the next Anthony Davis. He could be but not having played a minute of NBA ball against bigger men that's a long way down the road.

I would hang into the pick and take Smart, Vonleh or Randle... I would trade the pick for Rondo...

No.
Rather keep the pick and take Smart if available, Randle, Gordon, or Volneh, in that order

If Randle is still available, I'd take him. If not, I would look to trade it, but not for Noel though.

He didnt' really impress me at Kentucky. Gained a lot of hype after the Wildcats' dominating season and people just assumed he was an Anthony Davis type player.

Dude is a paper thin center too. I'll take Aaron Gordon over him.

I'd rather take a guy like Saric rather than Vonleh or trade for player that hasn't played a game over 18 months and had ACL injury.

Why would Philly move Noel tho? Isn't he a PF? Anyways, I wouldn't trade the 7th pick for Noel. He will probably end up becoming a solid defensive player if he doesn't get hurt again, but that is too big of a gamble to deal with. Take Vonleh, Smart, or even LaVine with the #7 pick.

Swaggy P has a low basketball IQ as well but as we all know the dude can straight ball.

Swaggy P is a horrible team player, a black hole on offense and nonexistent on defense.

He was a "relatively" high pick because of his athleticism but I don't think he is the model for what you hope a prospect with low basketball IQ becomes

Kupchak should take Randle or Smart if they're available, otherwise he needs to smack Hinkie around a bit and see if we can grab Thad Young or some second round picks as well.
