ECF, Game 4: #1 Pacers vs. #2 Heat, MIA Leads 2-1

The Skinny
Image
After taking a 1-0 lead, the Pacers have faltered and now find themselves down in the series 2-1. What makes it sting even more is the sheer number of chances the Pacers had to flip the script and be up 2-1. They led the Heat 17-4 with 3 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter of game 3, and after a pathetic effort in the 3rd quarter, the Pacers lost the lead and ended up being blown out. Now, the Pacers have a must win situation on their hands. Losing this game means the series might as well be over. The Pacers will never win 3 in a row against the Heat, especially in the playoffs. Will the Pacers be able to tie the series up and head back to Indy with the series tied? Or will the Heat close the door on the Pacers’ Finals hopes for the 3rd year in a row?

The Lineups
Image
Point Guard
ImageImage
George Hill was awful. 17 minutes for your starting point guard? Really?

Shooting Guard
ImageImage
Lance was bad, Wade was good. That’s all you need to know.

Small Forward
ImageImage
PG was the only player who kept it close in the 4th quarter, but LeBron dominated the game while Paul George was invisible until that 4th quarter.

Power Forward
ImageImage
David West was on fire in the first quarter and thoroughly beat Udonis, but come the 2nd half, the Pacers stopped going to him in the post.

Center
ImageImage
Yuck.

The Bench
Image
ImageImage
ImageImage
Image
Norris Cole hit 4 reverse layups, Scola hit a couple of scoop shots, Watson was invisible, Ray Allen hit clutch 3s, nothing else notable.

Yeah, I actually didn't plan on doing it, but I saw there wasn't one up yet and it was gameday, so I went ahead and did it.

Anyway, this is a must win game. A loss and we're done.

Hopefully the guys can win tonight. I would experiment with Evan Turner; Paul George and Lance lineup tonight to try to create a mismatch somewhere. They need to be aggressive taking the ball the basket tonight and drawing fouls. Also get the bigs going early. Lets dominate the paint on both ends tonight. Its do or die; so hopefully they rise to the occasion.

After Rose broke both his knees, I gave up on the hope that we'd make it to the NBA Finals again. It will probably be decades before we see another championship. Hello Treadmill, here we come.

Birdman inactive, which is good news considering how well he's played against us.

Rashard Lewis starting.

He did. But overall, poor start, I can forgive Bosh starting hot, he did a good job abusing Hibbert's weaknesses, I can't forgive us not finding the low post on offense, poor entry passes and bad positioning. If it wasnt for Scola doing magical things we'd be down by 15 already.

Yup, all done. This starting five is good, but not good enough to win the championship. Wonder what Bird is planning. Until then, good night and sleep well. Don't let the Heatles bite!

It doesn't make any difference how good we are we are not a big market. We don't have a star player, we are not the Miami Heat. Or the Knicks. This is just like the 1990s when we went thru this with the Knicks they were given preferential treatment by the NBA and by the refs, from the 1985 draft lottery that was fixed when Stern did the double take then pulled out the card with the bent corner awarding Patrick Ewing to the Knicks to the Larry Johnson 4 point play.

In this game we see the Zebra's giving extra possessions to the Heat every time the pacers get with in 5 points they are awarded a bogus foul or the pacers are called with some lame infraction such as don't breath on the King, or don't look at Wade.

This is the sad state of affairs we see a once great game fall into, Cronyism and preferential treatment.

No point in watching it anymore. There needs to be an investigation into this crooked game.

The Spurs have won 4 titles and they are not a big market. OKC was on the verge of winning one and they are not a big market. Market size has nothing to do with it, come on. :/
