Power rankings are the most meaningless piece of information there is - but they're fun!

In that ESPN accompanying video, Barry Larkin puts the Jays at #1.

Foxsports.com has us at #8

Winners of four straight series, including sweeps of Oakland and Boston, the Blue Jays are now in the driver’s seat of a very crowded AL East division.

100% agree that they are useless but they are fun... and I did notice that Larkin put them #1 in the video live from Cinci... I actually found it surprising that they ended the segment by teeing up the Jays vs Rays starting tonight.

Red Sox 26th in that list with Napoli and Victorino hitting the DL.

...and hasn't been alone in first place this late in the season since 2000.

I mean I knew this was true, but it's freaking May. That's really an unbelievable stat. Goddamn the AL East.

Screw ESPN. I care nothing about them or their power rankings (or any power rankings for that matter).

Randle,

I'm just posting things that Blue Jay fans might be interested in.

I know that you hate literally everything, so I apologize that you hate ESPN.

The Jays are doing pretty well, so it's probably about time for another completely unsubstantiated and pointless Man in White article from them, I figure.

If they hit more then 7 home runs this series I'm calling a return of the "Man in White" theories.

How else could they hit so many HR's at Rogers Centre?

I like the Power Rankings for the fact that it gives me a quick snapshot of every team's past week. I really don't follow anyone outside of the Jays and the AL East, so it gives you at least the smallest bit of insight into what's happening around the league.

What ever happened with that story? Did those reporters just completely fabricate and create a character to see who would actually believe it?

You mean another one in addition to that piece of trash that the little weasel Olney wrote up a couple of weeks back about Melky and how his hot start just had to be called into question?

No offense meant to OP, but I agree in general, **** ESPN.

ESPN is the worst, its the weirdest thing ever but i don't understand why Canadian sports fans seek their approval and attention. We should be thanking our lucky stars we don't get that poison here, even though its based on stupid reasoning i hope the CRTC keeps up with that ban forever.

Not that I care about power rankings, but I do find it a bit strange the A's move up to #1 while having lost 4 straight

Jonah Keri's power rankings are really good, I like how he writes substantial portions on a few teams rather than a useless sentence on every team like most sites.

just to remind you guys.... Damien Cox was the one who wrote the story when it was about Bautista after 54 or w/e he hit... Damien Cox is a goof.

I don't mind Power Rankings tho.

To be fair, it's pretty hard to put a team with such suspect starting pitching much higher then high single digits in these kinds of lists. The offense is arguably the best in the league, but good pitching usually beats good offense.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

This story is definitely coming back after all those bombs last night, even Tolly hit one!

Nothing ever happened because the people complaining about it are bat **** crazy....Nobody was stealing signs from the outfield. It started with the Yankees complaining then the White Sox bullpen.

Look it up on Google, some of the old stories are actually pretty funny. You realize how crazy an accusation it is.
That's what she said.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
