I like Smart's defensive potential and strong rebounding from the PG spot but I'm not sure he can do the things needed to run a team.. He seems like more of a slashing 2 guard playing at the point.

Can he efficiently run a team and make good decisions consistently?

he's probably a 2, would hate to force him to play the 1 as it might marginalize his developement. Saw a good comparison on Cha board of Smarts to Stuckey. Stuckey could've been a really good offensive 2 but I guess Det kept trying to get him to be Billups eventual replacement which probabaly stunted his growth and bit and now Stuckey is still a tweener.

You don't want a pure 1 next to Kobe. That's pointless. I'd much rather have two guys that can distribute and create than the outdated one true PG system that so rarely actually works. Even Parker has Ginobli and started out as a more of a scoring PG.

That's true he is. I'd prefer getting a defensive guy out there too but spending the 7th pick for that it is a bit of a stretch. There's some possibility of Utah trying to get into the top 3 in this draft. Is Favors worth the 7th pick? It's pretty darn hard getting a guy like him in his youth.

i wish kobe would stop slowing the offense to see where he can attack and instead play off the ball and let others create for him

I'm guessing #7 is Randle, but we'll see.

Something tells me Julius Randle has a promise. He hasn't had a single workout. My suspicion is that Exum has been given his promise from Boston and Randle has been given one from L.A.
