Horford for #1 Pick?

Post#1 » by simon24 » Wed May 28, 2014 10:53 pm

I just read Chad Ford's latest Chat With Chat Ford. He mentions CLE seems to be the most interested in trading their pick. He listed Horford among Noah and Love as the veteran all-star CLE could desire.

CLE is in a tough spot. Kyrie and Thompson can be offered new contracts this summer and Bennett should be healthy. Drafting Wiggins/Parkers means giving up on Bennett after a year. However, can't see CLE giving Thompson Derrick Favors money. If CLE was to offer the #1 pick for Al, would the Hawks say no?

This seems really foolish...which makes me believe CLE might actually do this. This would be an opportunity we couldn't pass up. I'd throw in Millsap and/or Korver and take any garbage contracts off their hands to make this work. No matter how terrible.

If I could spend the next 15 years watching Jabari Parker or Wiggins....nothing would stop me from making this happen.

I will believe it when I see it. I don't see the top 3 guys as absolutely can't miss prospects like most others do. There is no surefire stud in this draft in my opinion. Embiid looks to be but his back could be a problem.

1st, Why would drafting a 2/3 like Wiggins mean that you're giving up on Bennett? 2nd, Why would Thompson be remotely considered a max guy?

Anyway, yes, I agree with Jamaaliver here: I'd deal Horford and more for the #1 pick. H3ll, as long as we're on the subject, I'd have no problem putting any or all of Teague, Millsap, Korver, Carroll, and Horford into the deal and go after Kyrie as well. Kyrie + #1 (I'm going after Embiid here) would be a core that can win championships IMHO.

Horford + Milsap + Lou Williams + our 43rd draft for Cleveland's 1st overall pick and Cleveland's 33rd pick

Then the hawks would have the 1st overall pick, 15th pick, and 33rd pick

#15 and any three players on the Hawks for #1

Then take Embiid or trade #1 to Phily for #3, #10, and #32. Use #3 to get Parker.

I like this idea, I would try and get Parker at (3) and either Aaron Gordon, Vonleh, McDermott, Harris or Stauskas at the (10) spot

Maybe Horford and our 15th pick for 76ers Nerlins Noel + 76ers 10th pick + 76ers 2015 1st round pick?

Anyone like this trade?

Sure, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it. Honestly think that Embiid and Kyrie could be the basis of a championship team in 5-7 years. Maybe even win it multiple times. IF the CLE owner is stupid enough to push his employees to the point that they'd consider doing something that rash, then I have no problem being the beneficiary.

Nah, Nerlens Noel and Bebe are pretty much the same player. And with Horford/MCW/Jabari Parker/Thaddeus Young they'd be a solid team making that draft pick in 2015 a less than stellar acquisition.

I would offer the Cavs Horford and any other player for the #1.
I would offer the Sixers Horford, our pick and any other player for their pick and Carter-Williams.

Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit a minute, do you want to trade two All-Star on two of the best contracts in NBA to get this 1st pick ?
I need to think about it, but I will certainly keep my "100% NO" answer ;-)

Unless you are sure that the created room help you to sign big F.A., but a this moment, no big F.A. wanted to sign here, while at least some good future F.A. seems to now think about ATL because of... they want to play with some of our players and in good systems and hope to win, before wanting the maximum money they can get and have less chances about winning.

Yall are crazy. There is no Lebron in this draft. None of these guys are a lock to be a superstar. They all have their faults and any of the 3 could turn out to be not near as good as every one is expecting them to be.

ESPN has brainwashed a lot of people on Kyrie. What has he done in this league to make every one go nuts over him? Hell, on the general board, most people share my opinion that he is overrated and part of the problem in Cleveland.

Id trade Horford + 15th pick for the #1 and NOTHING ELSE.

#1 pick is worth a ton, but theres no Lebron/Melo/Wade in this draft. Sorry. The only SUREFIRE person I think is Parker. Wiggins could be a bust and Emiid could have back issues like Sullinger did.

LOL at trading our entire team for 1 ROOKIE

Are you guys nuts? The player is worth more than the pick. Guys like Carmelo and Harden get traded for MULTIPLE 1st round picks and you all are suggesting trading 2 ALLSTARS players plus Lou for the #1 pick.
This is some twilight zone ish.
