Skinny as hell but it's hard not to like those mechanics, should be in consideration at 37:

He is a little soft, but some teams may prefer him as a stretch 4 or 5.

I don't get why people say that in longterm other player will become better then him it's not like Parker is 23 years old, they guy is only 19 he has the capability to improve as anyone else in this draft
It should be
1. Parker
-gap-
2. others

You're leaving defense out of the equation.
He will be burned....often.

Although he hasn't shown much promise guarding SFs i think ultimately jabari at 6'9 probably 250lbs, hes gunna be able to guard and go at PFs...hes shown many times this season that he could play the role of help defender as he was duke's only interior presence on defense at times

having said that, jabari a PF that could handle the ball and shoot the way he does would be a matchup nightmare for anyone in the league.

If he embraces hard-noised basketball and life in the paint I see a very fruitful future for him in the league

I actually like him quite a bit as a player, brings a lot of different skills to the court. The only concern (and it's a big one) is his eyesight. He's blind in his right eye (which is always going to affect depth perception and peripheral vision). Also, his shooting percentages declined over the past 2 years. A team looking to draft him would have to really do their homework to make sure that this isn't connected to his vision issues. If it is, it's a shame. I feel bad for the guy.

I don't think that matters at all as long as we pick the right people . Make a list of all the really good players drafted at 20 or after 20 and that list I bet would be good .

Oh yeah he reminds me Michael Redd on offense, both leftys and both can score from anywhere. Rodney still has to improve his defense in NBA to be closer to Redd's level.

He looks like a guy who dominates in college but struggles in the NBA. But he didn't dominate in college...

That being said, he's 7-1 and has some skill. I wouldn't count him out, but damn is he skinny.

On another note - what's up with the draft stock of Baylor players always dropping dramatically lately? Weren't Austin, Quincy Miller and Perry Jones all supposed to be high lotto picks out of high school?

Injury red flags caused both to drop.

Haha, it's true (and the other posters quote about injuries), I just found it interesting that those types of players (who seem to look like great prospects of out HS) seem to bust in college at Baylor. Maybe once a player lives up to the hype at Baylor, you'll know they're the real deal, as opposed to systems that make everyone look good.

Of course, the point I was making is that we have 1 shot at making this pick in the 20 range, putting a list of all good players after 20 wouldn't apply because it would mean you have 20-30 attempts at making the pick. Based on having 1 pick at 20, this is the history of players that were drafted at this slot, making it more relevant to put up this list as opposed to the one suggested.

Isn't the kid blind in one eye as well? That certainly can't help his draft stock...

My point is that there are good players available at or after 20 in every draft it doesn't matter that most teams did not pick them the fact is that they were on the board at 20 . The key is finding them some teams can others cannot .

What is the point of these videos. He doesn't get a single one of those shots off against a D-League team, let along a proper NBA defence. If he even tries a fade away jumper Casey would nail him to the bench immediately. With those dribble moves he looks like a very very tall 6th grader - again, why bother, he will not be allowed to dribble in the NBA. Show me the 3, some strength down low, or some shot blocking athleticism - otherwise what good are you going to be?

2013:
23 - Mason Plumlee
24 - Hardaway Jr.

2012:
21 - Sullinger
25 - Wroten
26 - Mile Plumlee

Probably a few others that might be considered "good". So, more like finding a needle in the haystack than shooting fish in a barrel. More likely that we find someone to carry the bags for $2mil rather than a difference maker.

Now, if we were to make a play for #8 from Sacramento...
2012:
8 - Ross
9 - Drummond
13 - Marshall

2013:
9 - Trey Burke
11 - MCW
12 - Adams

I'm too lazy to go further. But, this shows you can get a real difference maker or at least a real contributor at 8, but at 20 you are really just hoping to find a NBA-quality role player (which is important, of course).

I think the #20 pick could be pretty good for us this year. I think there's a solid chance that one of the tier 3 guys drops:

McDermott
Saric
Nurkic
Young
Stauskas
Ennis
Hood
Harris
Lavine

I think after the top eight, the draft will get pretty unpredictable.

Return to Toronto Raptors
