There's a classic case of not thinking ahead - I can only assume that Oviedo didn't realize how much of a burner Gose really is. For that matter, Pillar's wheels were a treat to watch from 1st to home

It's not even really thinking ahead, he's in pure reaction mode and he doesn't have the moment of reflection needed to reconsider his reaction. Somewhere recently Delabar paraphrased the adage the game gets easier the further away from the field you are and I think it definitely applies here.

It's an absolute obvious no brainer to hold onto that ball watching on TV, sitting in the stands, even managing the game, but I fully get why Mr. Nunez nee Oviedo made the throw. Granted he's paid big bucks to make the right call under pressure, but from his pitch to the bunt to running off the mound with the intent of fielding and throwing and following through on those actions, there isn't that much time left over to think, Oh Gose is fast, oh by the time I get to this ball and pick it up I'm gonna be right behind him, oh if I miss the throw game's over, etc...

I'm not letting him off the hook, it's his job not to throw that ball, but it's not some air-headed craziness that happened, he just didn't think the situation through all the way in pretty much a split instant.

Are those the In the Action seats? I've sat there once before. It was this Cardinals game in 2005: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes ... 6150.shtml

I still remember Gregg Zaun absolutely losing his **** in the dugout after getting out. All the players tried so hard to ignore his breakdown and look away but Frank Catalanotto couldn't help himself and just started breaking out into laughter.

That moment stuck out, but it was a really cool vantage point to watch a game from. I've sat pretty close many other times at many MLB ballparks, but never right in the first row there. May have to do it again.

Yup, they are. I ended up getting them for free out of pure dumb luck. Other than Lawrie dropping a few F-bombs after flying out, there really wasn't much (loud) chatter in the dugout at all. That really took me by surprise. They yell out a few encouragements like any other fan and argue the odd bad strike call, but other than that they're pretty calm.

And the price, for $210, isn't really that bad if you compare glass seats to the Leafs and courtside seats to the Raptors. I'd definitely splurge on a night out with the guys.
