I wanted to move Ilyasova anyway, but I'd like to package him with #31 or even a couple of our 2nd round picks to see if we could move up for someone like Jordan Adams or Elfrid Payton. Our backcourt is a hot mess at the moment, would like to add a good prospect there.

Agreed. Ersan should be traded on draft day. We should do everything to move Zaza by the end of training camp or the deadline worst case. Delfino should be shopped if he shows up to camp in shape, but just cut him by the end of camp if we need the roster spot to keep a younger player. I'd jump at the first offer for Mayo of course but I think we are stuck with him until he starts dropping 14ppg.

Despite being higher on the Euros than most (Nurkic, Porzingis, Micic) I'm not taking Saric any higher than #7. The athleticism just isn't there.

I've lost count but are we entering the third or fourth offseason in which Ilyasova should be traded? I'm beginning to wonder if anyone there has the brains to finally get a deal done.

I am pages and pages behind, but want to throw something out there on Parker;

People want the two way player, I get that, but I think Parker's offensive potential will put him right up there with Kevin Love and Dirk type offensive impact.

You can site all the stats you want to tell me why it won't happen, just saying that is what my gut tells me he becomes in terms of value to the offense. Anyone that is making the Parker can't play defense well enough to be a winner, should at the very least, think about the success Dirk has had or the reputation Love has a top 10 player...cause that's what I think Parker can become in terms of impact.

I get if others disagree, and I get if the stats today don't back up that type of claim, that's just what I think will happen (I also get that Love has not had a very winning career, so maybe that is an argument against Parker)

ha ha so true. The problem this yr is he has very little if any trade value. I doubt they could even fetch a late 1st rounder for him. Probably the best they can hope for is another slightly overpaid vet who some other team is sick of.

I think Ilyasova has long been overrated on his board. His value around the league has never been anywhere near as high as some here thought. That said, it's time to just take what you can get for him and move on. He's never been someone who should've been viewed as a core future piece and he certainly isn't that player now. Just make a deal and move forward. Hopefully with Kohl out of the picture that can get done.

Analysis: The Bucks will have a choice between the ultra-athletic Wiggins and the skilled Parker if Embiid is off the board. That will be an agonizing decision for GM John Hammond, who will balance taking the more-NBA ready Parker and Wiggins, who appears to have the higher upside. Hammond can ill-afford to miss here, and that will be why he ultimately goes with Parker.

Well, that reads like pure speculation. I wouldn't be worried about that.

I have to think NBA GMs understand that their resume isn't static after they leave a job. If you picked the wrong player, people will know you didn't do your job. Conversely, if you pick the right guy and get fired because of year 1 returns, the only people who look stupid are the people who fired you.

I still think Ilyasova could be an appealing piece for teams like San Antonio/Dallas/Houston/Miami. He should definitely be as valuable as a pick in the 20s, even if he's plateaud. Most teams in that range aren't looking to roll the dice on a young guy, they're looking for proven commodities.

Pretty much, there is no point in just dumping Ersan. He still can be a valuable role player, I hope he can bounce back and we can move him for something. The Magic got Tobias Harris from for JJ freakin Redick, we just need to find another Hammond.

NBA teams do stupid chit all the time but I'm not sure I'd count on another team doing something that moronic again anytime soon.

I'd think if we draft Parker it would be for the following reasons (I slightly favor Wiggins after Embiid btw):

- Hammond might think he's the second best prospect in the draft, and he might very well be (or tied for it for that matter).

- He measured 6'9 (in shoes) so he has size to play PF in the NBA. Especially if the team has a lengthy SF and C combo to pair him with (i.e. our Bucks).

- Start of the college season he just tore it up. Immediate impact player.

- Perhaps more wins immediately to "sell" the new arena and also help Hammond keep his job.

- Alpha male scorer. Bucks are lacking one and as a team they were 28th in scoring. They also lacked scoring on the front line.

- Great teammate

- Super high character. Would be the face of the franchise in an utmost positive way.

- Likely to stay loyal to the franchise (super loyal, super high character, from Chicago) for the next decade

- Solves our PF woes we've had since Anthony Mason, etc for the last 15 years.

Note: These are just my opinions only and is not to say the other prospects don't exhibit these.

The problem is that we still have Hammond here.

I'm at peace with Hammond doing the draft to some extent (because I don't have a choice). But who the heck is going to make draft day trades and handle July 1 FA?

We just don't have a sharp deal-maker GM in place yet.

If Embiid is the guy and we get land a good coach, Ilyasova becomes a very valuable piece.

If Larry Drew returns, he probably remains worthless.

I'm hoping that Lasry and Edens will bring in a new mindset, Lasry needs to play some poker in the NBA.

I think Ersan could net us as high as the Suns pick #17 if we package say #36 with him, or as low as #30 by himself. I'd then turn around and shop that cap space+ to teams looking to dump salary like the Bulls and Boozer. If Ersan+ netted us #17 and #19 I'd be doing back flips.

I'd be shocked if a team parted with a Top 20 pick for Ilyasova unless he was combined with something more valuable than a second. I think late first is the best you're gonna get for him and at this point I'd take it with the hope I could package that and 36 and try to move up.

we could probably get a 1st for Ersan if we eat some toxic contract, Boozer as mentioned.

I think we probably could get another pick pretty easy just paying straight cash, maybe give up some 2nds. Not every team wants another guaranteed contract.
