I'd tell them they really can't go wrong with anyone they take with the second pick. But taking Embiid over Wiggins (if that choice were to be available) or Parker could prove to be a massive failure. Just ask the Blazers.

And yes Mallory Edens is hot. Just like the sky is blue and water is wet. I don't think that's a breaking story anywhere, much less within the Edens family.

I'd ask them to get Jimmy Goldstein courtside seats to every game.

Chuk---these two are either going to change the City or the City is going to change them, in which case they'll be out of here in three years and the Bucks might go with them. I'm betting on the former.

All great ideas people:

- Preseason games in Madison's Kohl Center to attract the Wisconsin campus and students.
- Building the new arena by the lake. Best location IMO, as it can be a walking distance from Museums, the new Northwestern Mutual Tower, and parking structures. I don't know what the Convention Center people (Gimbel) are thinking in combining the arena with the Convention Center.
- Ask if any logos, jerseys, colors scheme upgrades can be in the works depending on public opinion. Which might be best. The Christmas reindeer color scheme has to go.
- Hint at needing to replace Larry Drew.

I'd tell them that the faster they can get rid of everyone from the old regime, the better. The last decade+ was miserable and you'll be infinitely more successful than the previous regime simply by not being Herb Kohl. Turning around the Bucks franchise should actually be an easy thing to do, but the previous morons made it difficult for themselves and they looked at the process like it was rocket science. Also, I'm partial to Sophie.

The Bucks used to play preseason games in Madison all the time. I agree scheduling one game at the Kohl Center would be a wise decision.

Well put. Well endowed with subtext.

I don't read here often lately. Europa, if you've weighed in with your thoughts on the Dynamic Duo and the Bucks New Era, is there any part of that you can share here?

I haven't been around much either Chuck. Not much I can probably add. I like the new owners and I think it bodes well for the future. To me, cementing the Bucks' position as a team with relevancy again would be to fire Hammond, Morway, Drew and everyone connected to the primary personnel and coaching decisions. This team needs a new slate badly. New owners is great and was obviously huge. But the work shouldn't be considered over yet.

Taking Wiggins or Parker over Embiid could also prove to be a massive failure... and I don't get the Oden/Embiid comparison at all. Different players, different bodies, different situations entirely as Wiggins and Parker are not the prospects that Durant was.

I spent at least ten minutes trying to read this post without being distracted.

I'm not comparing them in terms of talent. But the NBA is littered with big men who got hurt after entering the league. And, of course, Sam Bowie is arguably the most famous big man drafted high (No. 1) who entered the league with pre-existing injuries that his team ignored. As I said earlier, I'm not dismissing Embiid's talent. I'm just not going to take the risk, especially not when there are two extremely talented (in my opinion) prospects available who carry no injury issues whatsoever.

The soonest I would even consider Embiid is at 3 and maybe 4 because I have a bias toward PGs :) and Exum is growing on me. If I'm wrong about Embiid, I'm wrong. I can live with that, especially since I believe the odds are stronger that he doesn't reach his full potential due to injury than it is that he realizes it.

Sam Bowie was drafted second overall... after some guy named Olajuwon who is the prime example of why you should take extremely talented bigs early. Funny that he's the most famous big man drafted high who entered the league with pre-existing injuries and you don't even know where he was picked. :D

You can rank him lower if you'd like. I just think ranking him lower due to his injury is foolish.

Sorry, you're right I screwed up Bowie's draft spot. Primary point still stands, though. :)

As far as Embiid, I think dismissing his injury and ignoring the countless number of big men who get hurt (especially with back injuries) who have no pre-existing back injuries coming into the league (unlike Embiid) is far more foolish. I really really really hope the Cavs do that. It's my No. 1 draft night wish. :D

You may not think he has the most talent in the draft... but if you do I will never be able to grasp the concept of "Pass on the player who has the best chance to be a superstar because he has some risk involved".

We don't need good, we need great. Take the guy with the best chance to be great.
