Asik flipped for a future 1st rd pick

Knicks end up with 2 rookie scale players (Jones, 2014 1st) and 3 future 1's

If Melo won't take less i would be happy with that return. Trade Chandler and go into the tank next year.

I just don't see how this helps us. Melo is worth atleast 1 high pick along with a starting Center. Even if we tank next year there's no guarantee we get the #1 pick.
this trade is a bunch of nothing.
We have the best available free agent on our team now, and he also happens to be one of the best players in the league. We can't trade him for trash.

Unless someone in the organization knows he can't be durable anymore this trade is garbage.

What they should be concentrating on are Defensive Bigs--b/c the two players that I believe they are targeting in Love and Kyrie(who both can force their way here if they play their cards right) are not good defenders.

If the Bucks draft Embiid, then I think we can get Henson or Sanders for OKC's 21st pick(which we can get for Shump.) TPE and pick for Tyson from Dallas.

Defensive Big
Free agent---or TPE signing
Melo
THJ/JR(Free agent---or TPE signing)
Free agent---or TPE signing

+ assorted Triangle-minimum-vet players

---much better deal than proposed trade.

Can't give up on a healthy Melo.

Melo and Felton for MCW and filler. Who says no?

Exum
Harris
Melo
Young
Noel

MCW/Shump/THJ would be an awesome PG-SG-SF core.

I don't think Philly is that bad of a place to play? They also have the cap space to sign a Z-Bo or Deng as well and really compete in a weak east.

Plus, the only way Melo gets the Kobe-Max is if he does a S&T. That makes me think any trade that's done would be a S&T.

If I'm Melo I would listen to a Philly offer, but then again I don't think that Hinkie wants Melo to what he is building right now.

And Melo is not getting anything monetary wise out of a S&T. He can only get 7.5% raises and the 5th year if he actually signs to stay with us, in a S&T he would only get the 4year 4.5% raise. Kobe-Max is such a stupid word it should rather be the 3rd max extension, and Melo is most likely getting that regardless of future destination.

if melo wanted to play in philly he'd sign with them outright. they've got the capsace, MCW, nerlens noel, 2 top ten lottery picks.

i think this is how the draft'll shake out

Cleveland-Wiggins
i don't think they'll pass on Wiggins even for Embiid. I think the luster of drafting the kid who's been called the next LeBron is going to be too much for them even if Embiid is the most sensible choice.

Milwaukee-Emibiid

Obvious pick here. They'll consider Embiid a steal since probably should have been the first pick in the draft.

Philadelphia-Parker
i think they'd consider taking Exum but in the end, they'll be too afraid of passing up on Parker, even though they probably should.

Orlando-Exum
Again obvious choice. BPA. i think it's possible they trade Exum or Oladipo at some point. maybe they make a play for Love with either.

Utah-Randle
BPA

Boston-Smart
BPA

Of the top 6 teams, 5 have PG's of the present or of the future. I would expect with Exum and Smart being some of the best players in this years draft, that those teams could possibly attempt some trades on draft night. whether we're in those discussions or not is another matter.

that's only half as long as I'd guess it would take the einstein's on this team to get the triangle.

Any chance we could swing a trade for Jrue Holiday. Seems like a good fit since Phil loves big PG's and he can shoot and defend.

Only thing I could think of:

SAC: Chandler and Shumpert
NO: Pick #8, Derrick Williams (expiring), $6m TPE
NYK: Jrue Holiday, Jason Terry (expiring), Reggie Evans

NO sells a little low on Holiday to clear the log jam at PG. Tyreke played well at the end of the season but the combination didn't work. Holiday nets the most in a trade so they move him for a top 10 pick.
SAC turns #8 into win now players that fill needs. Shump gives them an elite perimeter defender in between Thomas and Gay. Chandler gives them a back end defender and veteran presence on the court.
NY gets a PG for the future. Assuming Melo is making $20m in year 2 of his deal and JR can be traded for an expiring with Felton's deal stretched, NY would still have around $23 million in 2015 cap space, $20 if they also have to stretch JR.

No way in the world that goes down. Jrue and AD are untouchable.

Simmons and Lowe were throwing out a trade idea:

JR Felton Chandler

For

Hibbert Stephenson Hill

Lowe said no one in the world is taking JR around the league. He's perceived as a cancer by all the GMs he's spoken to. Can't say I disagree. Maybe he shapes up now that Pjax is here, but rt now he's untouchable.

I'd be surprised if they gave us MCW for THJ Shump and a 1st.

he said 25 out of 30 teams wouldn't take him. So that leave's 4 possible trade destinations, assuming were not 1 of the 25 teams that is saying they wouldn't touch him.
