As far as the "Vs. NBA Length" videos go, Dougie might be the most impressive guy so far.

If Philly must have Wiggins and Jabari is our guy, we need to exploit this.

I'd be OK with 2 for Parker/10 but Wiggins is the guy I want. If he's there I want the Bucks to take him.

I see rookie year Kobe when I watch Wiggins. No way to project how he'll develop but the tools are there.

Oh, these guys have made mistakes. And they'll make mistakes with the Bucks and maybe with this pick.
But the level of competence we need is someone who can take Ernie Grunfeld or the Clippers to the cleaners in a trade or two. That's not a high bar. A circus monkey could have figured out how to get us a much higher draft pick in 2012 while picking up Eric Bledsoe last summer. That's all we ask.
What we should ask is their feet be held to the fire and the arena is close to completely privately financed (with public kicking in land/road infrastructure). You cant move an arena - then they'll have all the incentive in the world to make the Bucks a success in Milwaukee - no cash out backup plan. Let them bat their eyelashes at investors and their own egos. Kohl had a free ride and a big cashout with no physical investment - look at the results. If they want to make that effort and investment im more than happy to pay for their limo to the prom and let them flirt with the driver - or as other posters say "be happy to have them bang my gf."

Hinkie is sharp. I think he knows if we plan to take Parker he will get his guy for nothing.
This is going to have to be a huge sell job by the team to project Wiggins if they hope to con Philly.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I've been swayed towards Parker if Embiid is gone. We just can't survive Wiggins becoming MKG. We need a cerebral player.

Why do you think there's no chance that our FO likes Wiggins? I understand you don't like him, and that you would hope a trade is arranged if we draft him at #2, but I don't really understand where your certainty that we have no interest in him comes from besides just hoping that our FO thinks the way that you do.
Just a hunch.

Wiggins is already better than MKG.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I do not remember much about Raptors years McGrady... but when he got to Orlando he was one of the best ball handlers I have ever seen and could rise up to stick his shot from anywhere. McGrady, in his prime was around a LeBron/Durant level player, IMO. He was better than Kobe even at Kobe's best.
So I guess I don't see the Wiggins-McGrady comparison until he makes massive improvements on his ability to handle the ball. He also doesn't come off as the silky smooth perimeter player that McGrady was either. Wiggins seems like he's more of a raw athlete.
That's not a rip on Wiggins or anything... more of me thinking McGrady was probably a top 25-50 NBA player ever when he was in his prime. There aren't many wings in the history of the game I'd take over McGrady before his career got derailed by injuries.

You answered your own question. Wise loves Parker and doesn't like Wiggins, so he can't fathom the Bucks thinking otherwise. That's all there is to it, except maybe the rumors of the Bucks owners liking Parker a lot. I wouldn't take stuff like that to seriously though. These guys got really rich by being very smart and they have to know that honestly tipping your hand in public before any sports draft is stupid. I don't believe they are stupid, so i wouldn't take anything they say in public on the draft all that seriously.

I agree and certainly hope that's the case. MKG was tremendously regarded coming out of Kentucky as the #2 pick, even with his well documented offensive struggles.

Didn't someone say last night that one owner likes him and one owner doesn't like him at all? I could have sworn I read that here last night.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread pt. II - New Poll
I heard a story on the local espn radio here in Utah the other day. The Jazz GM was discussing qualities they are looking for in potential draftees. He told a story about Jeff Van Gundy that struck me.
Apparently, Jeff Van Gundy had a pretty specific direction he wanted his GM to go in to get players. His theory was that the front office should always be looking for skilled scorers. Why? Because that's a skillset that isn't easily taught. He felt, as a defensive coach, it was his job to take those scorers and make them into good defenders.
Provided Embiid is gone, both Wiggins and Parker have some pretty strong arguments to slot into that #2. Jabari has all the offensive skill and firepower you need with all the intangibles you can think of. Wiggins has all of the defensive skills you need with all of the athleticism you can think of.
We will see if the "Larry Drew is dead man walking" rumor is true. But, provided a defensive "teacher" is among the coaching staff, I do like the way Van Gundy thinks and I feel like it's a strong Jabari Parker argument.
I do not feel, however, that you can go wrong with either one. They've been 1a and 1b in high school, college and now the draft. I don't think much about that has changed!

I've been saying this for years. It's one reason I so strongly backed Redd during his best years. Guys like that simply aren't easy to find. The fact the Bucks haven't had a consistent scorer of that magnitude since Redd's best days speaks volumes to that point. George Karl said the same thing years ago (in reference to Big Dog actually). He always talked about the value of an efficient 20 ppg scorer and the significant value that type of player has in the NBA. I've always agreed with him.
Nothing will not break me.

I'm very curious to see exactly what type of NBA player McDermott ends up becoming. I really have no clue with him. I can't see him being an Adam Morrison type of bust because he's such a skilled all around scorer and good jump shooter, but as to whether he ends up becoming a better player than where he ends up getting drafted, i wouldn't bet any money on it either way.

Doug is going to be a decent pro. He's great at moving off the ball and getting himself open and obviously his J is great. Similar to guys like Korver and Redick, if Doug goes to a team where he can play off of other great players he will excel and could be a high teens scorer.

You may be right, but Korver has always been mainly just a jump shooter. He never had a varied scoring skillset like McDermott had, at least in college. Obviously in the NBA McDermott wn't be able to score all over the court like he did in college, but i do think he has more skill than just being a stand behind the three point line Korver clone.
