Should the team rebrand? Would you support a rebrand?

I'm almost indifferent to it, as I see some people just wanting to rid themselves completely of Donald Sterling. Some want to keep the history, I'm just curious what fellow fans of the team think.

Indeed. I could tolerate a logo change if they think it's necessary, but don't even think about touching the name or the colors. Sterling was a piece of the franchise, not the identity. He's gone already, let's keep doing bussiness as usual.

we've needed a logo change since forever ago.

but i wouldn't hate it if we got a name change. as long as it wasn't something dumb like the pelicans. actually, thinking on it, going back to the braves would be pretty slick.

I'd support a logo change- I really like the San Diego Clippers logo. However, I want to keep the name Clippers. I like it.

Hey all,

Bulls fan here. Always had a LAC soft spot ever since the days of Dehere and later the Kandi-man days.

But I often think about rebrands and color changes/name changes etc for teams in the league.
I def think there are TOO many red and blue teams in the league and too much blue in general. Do we need more than philly, detroit, and DC with red white and blue?

with that said...what would you think of...

the... HOLLYWOOD or LA QUAKES. "We make 'em tremble." Team colors black and gold (not laker gold, more like true gold)?

Could have awesome intros, awesome jerseys and marketing, and could even have a mascot named Tremor (love that movie)

would love some feedback.

hahahha well it would be done a bit more classy than what vince woulda made. but its a unique name to the region, and the colors are rare. i think they could do it right. make it sleek. that or play up the hollywood side of things. lord knows the clips deserve it after years of wasting away in anacrime

I say keep the name but change the logo and uniform.

does the name really fit though? its been a pretty medicore team since the name change, and has the stain of sterling on it, plus something not too relatable... maybe go retro and grab an ABA team name if they are allowed...

but i will agree, at the very least, change the color and the logo. Or maybe pull a sixers/wolves kinda thing and just go by "clips"

Objectively speaking, Clippers is not the greatest name.
But I've come to like it just fine.

However, DEPENDING ON THE NEW NAME, I wouldn't be all-out against a nickname-change.

No "Pelicans" type of rebranding.

Pragmatically speaking, it seems it may be a prefect time to rebrand.

New name/logos would mean new merchandise to sell; revenue bump to help justify price tag...
The franchise turning the page on DTS, fanbase more willing to accept the change...

At this point I'm just used to the name Clippers. However, a logo change would be nice. Ours is so plain, we could really incorporate a nice clipper ship into the logo. I'm fine with using red, white, and blue. Maybe we could go back to using the San Diego Clipper colors.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Ya a new logo would be cool. It's too similar to the lakers logo imo

Hell naw. We were the "Clippers" way before Sterling purchased them back in 81. We got rid of the cancer now it's time to go even harder with the "Clippers" brand.

I am in support, and team names usually coincide with the city theyre located in usually. I have no idea what ideas they could come up with but I hope the city gets some good names to vote on if that is the case.
Notes: Rookie Rudy Gay twisted his left ankle trying to guard McGrady late in the third quarter and limped to the bench. He returned with 5:51 left, then returned to the bench about a minute later - http://www.nba.com/games/20061231/MEMHOU/recap.html

where do people get the idea of getting rid of Sterling would require losing the Clippers name? we were the clippers before the ScumBag Tokowitz bought the franchise. the best Donald was able to come up with in terms of original names was renaming the Louise Lesser Tower a Sterling Tower and tell lies about how he actually developed the property.

we are the Clippers, we just happened to endure the Scumbag for some time and now it's over with.
ehhhhh f it.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
