It is sad that on here that isn't near enough protection.

Lol, it sure isn't.

Lol, Popovic has coached most of these same players for what seems like 20 years, and he is still teaching them, showing enthusiasm, and getting onto them as if they are rookies in a timeout. What a hell of a coach.

Unlike most small-market teams, the Thunder are paying into the league’s new revenue-sharing system instead of receiving money. They paid about $4 million into the system last season, per several sources around the league, while bigger market teams such as Atlanta and Washington received cash. The Bobcats got $20 million, and the Grizzlies about $15 million. Every buck matters.

Not sure if these are news but I certainly don't remember seeing/hearing myself about the exact figure of 20 million.

does that mean we are the least profitable team in the league?

In a way I suppose it does. However, teams do get penalized for underperforming. They are supposed to meet their revenue benchmarks (based on the number of TV households in their market area) and if they don't, they have to make up the difference (the contribution they make to the pool of money) themselves. Thus it could also easily mean that we're in the best place we could be as far as the balance between our own revenue and our opportunity to cash in from the other teams because of our small market is concerned.

Ty Lawson: 2 billion for the clippers??? Hmm I thought the owners were losing money??? The next collective bargaining agreement is gonna be crazy

little bit ironic coming from a dude who has kept demanding over $10 million a year but hasn't produced a good season for 4-5 years

This does not account for what they make a year. The franchises value increased and it helps the market they are in. The amount the owners are making a year is still not defined. Also the players assume no risk as they get paid not matter what even if the owner makes nothing. I just wish people would understand and work together and not get so adversarial about this.

maybe that's why Bogut is calling for a lockout, saves him getting an injury to take some time off.

I've grown cynical of Bogut from the last lockout where he decided he was going to "support" our local league by playing for a team. Insurance got in the way, but it didn't stop him constantly and naively ripping our league, doing more harm than good.

Long story short, Bogut really does tweet some crap sometimes.

The Pacers are an embarrassment.

After all of that offseason talking about ESPN Special interviews and then didn't even bother to fight this series after working all season to gain HCA.

I wonder if Turner hates that trade now.

Couldn't have helped his free agent value this off season

I missed it. Simmons just said something about our 9th pick, wanting a veteran, and "boom" in the same sentence. What was he referring to? Did anyone catch it?

They were talking about Indiana not going to improve and teams that are going to be better next year. He mentions the bottom teams and Toronto, Washington and not forgetting charlotte has the 9th pick and can trade for a veteran.

Well, Zach Lowe, for one, doesn't get that vibe from Turner:

Evan Turner is another fun character to watch. He’s the no. 2 pick from the 2010 draft in a contract year who just kind of sits there and observes everything with a weird smile on his face. He even wanted to ditch the team bus after one practice and walk home alone; he asked me how long the walk would be to his hotel.

He said he is not frustrated with his lack of playing time, or worried about his contract. “When it comes to money, pretty much everyone in the NBA is set,” he said. “I just want to get back to playing basketball — to playing in big games and all that fun stuff. I felt like in Philly this season, I was starting to define myself as one of the better wings in the game.”

He reminded me that he was posting up Ray Allen not long ago (“It seems like that’s long forgotten, huh?”), and that he came to Indiana late in its building process. “What is this, Year 4 for them?” he asked. “I just don’t want to be a distraction. Some people would sit around and scream, ‘I should be playing!’ But I’m just here for support.”

am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with Stephenson? He's quickly become quite the villain of the league and understandably so.

**** it, go out there and be the irritant. He's not the first one to challenge a superstar in such a way (Chuck Person vs. Larry Bird) and won't be the last one. It's the playoffs, feel free to try and find a way to get the edge any way you can think of.

I guess I could have enjoyed it because his antics came against the Heat though.

wow that's an interesting insight, I actually like Turner a whole lot more for his attitude.

not saying I want him on this team, just an awkward fit.

I think ewingsweatsalot summed him up pretty well for me. I like watching him, but wouldn't want him on my team.

He didn't do anything overly bad, I just wouldn't want him as he seemed to ignore what his team/management wanted him to do.

could see him messing with chemistry.

Yeah, that does sum it up quite nice. It's similar to how I feel about Stephen Jackson, who is one of my all-time favorites and about whom I have a theory. If I were a coach, I'd love to have him on my roster if we were a playoff team with veterans to keep Jack in control. However, if I would be a coach of a sub .500 team, he's one of the players from this league I would want the least.

Stephenson needs to tone it down a tad, but I love the way he acts for the most part. He plays his ass off, and has a ton of heart on the court. All he needs is a little veteran leadership. He never started acting up until Granger was traded.
