Spurs' Focus and Determination

Post#1 » by HEATVols865 » Sun Jun 1, 2014 4:16 am

I was worried about the Spurs and Thunder because in my view, Durant would have been trying to prove he's the MVP and that last finals choke job was a fluke.
The Spurs are still not over last year's Game 6 and subsequent Game 7 loss.
They feel that was their title and we stole it (we really did) as they were the better team last year.
The Spurs came out poised, best record, tremendous focus and after tonight's game they all mentioned last year's finals and how that's been driving them this year.
They are very good, extremely good and of it comes down to game 7, no way we will beat them at home.
I honestly would not be surprised if they swept us or if we only won a single game...they are that poised and driven and I do not see the same poise and will in our team.
Our guys are still cruising and the Spurs will most likely be too much for them.
The Spurs' anger and poise reminds me the Heat's after losing to the Mavs, but on steroids.
Either way, 4 Straight Finals, 2 Titles is excellent and shows that the Big 3 is a success and hopefully the core will remain in Miami for another 5 years.
I hope I'm wrong but these Finals could get way ugly for us.
If we want a shot at them, gotta come out swinging Game 1. No coming out flat on Game 1 or sloppy games. This is it.

Concern troll is concerned. I stopped taking this guy serious after that LeBron is not Jordan thread in a game where he had 5 fouls in 12 minutes. We're the only fan base on RGM with fake fans trolling us.

And while I do respect San Antonio and I know that they will be the toughest challenge we've faced yet, I'm not gonna agree with this guy.

Fake fan? I may not be Mr Sunshine up your butt and may overreact but to call me a fake fan? Dude you don't know me.
You were not here when I was back in the early 2000s of us sucking and putting up with crappy teams or fooling ourselves that Jimmy Jackson or Rod Strickland could save the season.
When did you become a fan? When Shaq came to Miami or when LeBron did?

Okay I'm as worried as anyone about this series, but come the **** on people. Parker couldn't even finish this game, he has a hammy and ankle issue. Timmy, while he played great last few minutes, obviously can't play that many or be that active every game. Ginobili still following up clutch plays with crappy turnovers and missing FT's. They've lost a ton of games this year, especially on the road. They don't have as much rest and have played more games before the Finals than last year.

Us on the other hand have a more healthy team. Wade actually looks like he has two legs. Our bench/role players have been great. I mean no one mentions it, but our bench destroyed Indy. We almost came back in game 5 with our role players when Lebron was out. I don't think we are outmatched at all when it comes to that factor.

The only worry I have is our energy and determination. Can we focus and put forward 100% for a full game? I think this Finals is in our hands. If we decide to play our ball, and play hard every game we have a great chance to win.

Anything I didn't quote, I consider that QueenOfFairies stated the facts or just don't think indifferent of what he said. Anyway...

The Spurs are still not over last year's Game 6 and subsequent Game 7 loss.
Two teams we beat in the Finals, one of them convincingly, the other in 7 games after a Ray Allen miracle three, in which the 7th game we dominated. But concerned troll is concerned.

QueenOfFairies wrote:They feel that was their title and we stole it (we really did) as they were the better team last year.
The teams were pretty equal, and if the Spurs were better, they would've shrugged of Game 6 and won Game 7 rather than get blown out. But concerned troll is concerned.

QueenOfFairies wrote:They are very good, extremely good and of it comes down to game 7, no way we will beat them at home.
If it comes down to 7 games, playing at home is the only thing San Antonio has going for them. They're core is not young and not healthy. Every game and OT played doesn't further their cause. But concerned troll is concerned.

QueenOfFairies wrote:I honestly would not be surprised if they swept us or if we only won a single game...they are that poised and driven and I do not see the same poise and will in our team.
Not even the Spurs think that's gonna happen, probably even in their most private thoughts. But concerned troll is concerned.

QueenOfFairies wrote:Our guys are still cruising and the Spurs will most likely be too much for them.
Yes, they are cruising after only having 3 losses in the playoffs compared to San Antonio's 6, with one of the Heat's losses being one of the most rigged games you'll see in your lifetime. But concerned troll is concerned.

QueenOfFairies wrote:If we want a shot at them, gotta come out swinging Game 1. No coming out flat on Game 1 or sloppy games. This is it.
We only need to win one of the first two, like we did in the Pacers' series which we lost the first game and won the second, thus stealing HCA. But alas, concerned troll is concerned.

^JUST CURIOUS - what is a "concerned troll" and/or a "fake fan"? been here a while, never heard that one, the "concerned troll" one.
