For all intents and purposes Daniels is going to be a huge liability on defense, but you could put him out on the floor because POR went small with LMA at center. I think it works to our favor when POR plays small, but game 3 POR kind of had to go small since they were playing from behind and needed the offense.

And Daniels is pretty lucky because:
1) He wouldn't have even been out there if Parsons didn't foul out and
2) Lin shouldn't have even passed it to Daniels in the first place. He had Dwight underneath the basket with Lillard in front of him. The correct/safer play would've been to just lob it to Howard.

Also I was skeptical about Daniels 3-point shooting at first, even though I know he shot like close to 40% in the D-League, but when I saw him hit that step back 3 I was convinced he's a legit shooter. But going forward I still see Daniels as just getting spot minutes if POR is going small and we can matchup and hide him on defense. It's just too much to expect any semblance of defense from a rookie being called up to play in the playoffs.

too risky for lob to howard, he might fumble it or something might not work during that frantic play. better to get the ball to someone open for a clean look...you then live with either a good miss or make.

daniels is our only real shooter on this team. maybe garcia to a much lesser extent.

I don't know what you guys are smoking but there was plenty of time for the lob (just under 4s at the time of the pass) and with Lillard on him Howard was essentially wide open under the rim. Daniels was open but it was a deep 3. If you were a gambling man and taking the percentages you would take the lob. LMA was no where close to Howard to contest.

That's plenty of time for an alley-oop, sure but it didn't necessarily work that way. I guess theoretically you have a point but if I were Jeremy, I'd do what he did. He was very close to Lillard at the time and to get the lob above Lillard, he'd have to do some kind of hook from the back. But LMA and Wright were approaching pretty fast from behind. There is a chance of interception, Dwight fumbling the pass, Dwight being fouled by Lillard but no whistle or Dwight missing two free throws after being fouled. Any of those scenarios happening would mean Jeremy would have to take blame. The window for the precise pass no matter in terms of time and space was extremely small and he'd have to have absolute trust in Dwight, which couldn't happen because someone doesn't allow them to play much together to develop chemistry. There is always risk involved in throwing oops with defenders in between. On the other hand, if Lin made the simple pass to Daniels, who is a knockdown shooter, and was open; if he made it great, if he missed, that's life.

Idiot, but it's kinda boring so anyways......

Mo Williams fabricated feud just to mess with Rockets rookie

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/05/nba-mo- ... -fake-feud

There are veteran moves, then there’s this.

Eleven-year NBA veteran Mo Williams of the Portland Trail Blazers decided NBA Development League call-up Troy Daniels of the Houston Rockets was doing a few too many good things in the first round of the playoffs. Daniels basically saved James Harden and Dwight Howard’s season momentarily in Game 3 of the series and made some big shots in Game 4.

So Williams did what any responsible veteran sixth man would do: He started a fake feud. Let Williams explain, as he did on NBATV:

“My thing was, let me get him some attention. Let me get the reporters in his locker room asking him questions about me that has nothing to do with the game. Now, all his homeboys got to call him — all his friends, his mom, his sister, everybody. ‘What’s going on? Is something wrong with you guys?’ ‘There’s nothing wrong with us.’ The thing is, it’s all a tactic.”

This was obvious. He's still in my top 5 hated players behind Chris Paul, Lillard, Westbrook and Fisher. Why are point guards such douche bags?

I can understand all those, but what's the matter with Lillard?

Even before that he has just been really cocky against Houston. And then after they won he grabbed the mic and yelled Rip City to the crowd. And I hate that commercial of him with Chris Webber, Karl Malone and Barry Sanders and LDT. Well the commercial is funny I just think for a second year guy he's not very humble.

I realize that but it wasn't like he did it single-handedly or anything:

~lol~ I see. Well, to be fair, I'm pretty sure another guy wrote the script for that commercial.

Troy Daniels should have been added to the roster during all-star break. Rockets late as usual.

No. Kevin McHale ended the Rockets season.
