Spurs vs Heat
Just curious to see which team lakers fans prefer to win the championship. Miami or San Antonio? For me, gonna go with the spurs. hard to hate on an organization with so much class and experience.

Re: Spurs vs Heat
Yeah if not option C, I might want the Spurs to win this one. Their brand of basketball has evolved from borderline unwatchable in the mid 00s to exciting and fluid as it is now.

Re: Spurs vs Heat
real question for me is:
a. do i want to see duncan win his 5th ring?
or
b. do i want to see the cHeats 3peat?
neither. but if i had to choose... timmy does deserve it more... so there.

It don't matter anyway, the Spurs are gonna get their ass kicked. Again we'll see Lebron obliterate this team to shreds for a second time.

He won't have to, with Parker ailing with leg issues and the erratic play on the road by the Spurs role players the Heat will easily beat them.Dr Aki wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:It don't matter anyway, the Spurs are gonna get their ass kicked. I want Spurs to win but it's gonna be Heat in 4 or 5. Yes, I said that. With healthy Parker or not.

Re: Spurs vs Heat
The Heat have rarely if ever in the RS or playoffs in the last 2 years dominated the spurs in any particular game. The only double digit victory in this span (when facing a relatively full strength San Antonio team and not one where they benched most of their stars) was game 4 of the Finals last year when Wade was the player of the game in that one.
If the Heat win, it will likely be because Wade had a much bigger impact consistently throughout this upcoming Finals. This is almost the same team as last year but the main regression I've seen is the level of defense for the Heat's role players off the bench (mainly Allen, Birdman). They've looked to be vulnerable moreso than last year (even then many of the Spurs' wins were blowouts!) and against an even better passing Spurs team this time around, it'll be tough for the Heat imo.
For the Spurs, Manu had a poor overall Finals last year. This year, he is in a better rhythm (Wade is too to be honest). The bench is deeper and the main changes would be Neal being replaced by Mills and Belinelli. Better ball handling to combat Miami's trapping defense. Parker is battling a sore left ankle right now, but last year he had the hamstring issue. If Manu and the bench play better than last year, that may swing the series in their favour.
With intangibles, the Spurs have HCA going for them, and redemption on their mind clearly being echoed by Duncan's post game comments after beating OKC in 6. Will this be similar to the year the Lakers had in 2010 when we beat the Suns in the WCF to avenge 2006 and 2007, and of course 'those guys' in the Finals. In a similar context, the Spurs may avenge their 2012 and 2013 elimination at the hands of Miami and OKC?
The 2-2-1-1-1 format is an advantage for the team with HCA in my opinion.
Also with Wade, he doesn't sheer out jump you like Westbrook does to cause problems for the Spurs. And with no shot blocking threat, if you really think about it OKC is the one team that had multple matchup advantages against the Spurs. Not even the Heat present those types of problems. On the other hand, Parker and Duncan may have the advantage in their individual matchups. Green and Leonard are great two way players that are perfect when playing teams that rely on their wing players like the Heat do.
Spurs in 6 is my prediction.

Probably Deep haha, but s'all good no matter what the Spurs do, I'll always look at our 2001 Lakers as the benchmark of an NBA team in the post-Jordan era.

Yeah not sure....the poll is who we want to win ,not who we think will win
I'm going for the Heat as well but want the Spurs to win it

Re: Spurs vs Heat
I don't want James to win for obvious reasons. I don't want Duncan to win because he'll have as many rings as kobe.
But if I really have to chose one ill probably go for the spurs.
I don't really care tbh I just want a good finals.
I have a feeling the heat will easily beat the spurs this time tho, I'm expecting 4-2 heat.

Re: Spurs vs Heat
Spurs got their "asses kicked" last year? LOL. That was a nail biting 7 game series that could have gone either way, literally the closest finals that has ever happened.

Re: Spurs vs Heat
Going with the heat, had some money on them since playoffs started. If spurs win I lose 40, if the heat win I get 100

where'd you get 2.5:1 odds on the heat winning?
