Lowe said no one in the world is taking JR around the league. He's perceived as a cancer by all the GMs he's spoken to. Can't say I disagree. Maybe he shapes up now that Pjax is here, but rt now he's untouchable.

he said 25 out of 30 teams wouldn't take him. So that leave's 4 possible trade destinations, assuming were not 1 of the 25 teams that is saying they wouldn't touch him.

Just listened to it again

"JR is toxic man. Nobody wants JR smith. Off the bat 25 out of 30 teams wouldn't take him at all". I don't take that as 4 other teams would take him. I mean if ur a GM would u take him? I wouldn't. Just don't think the very limited ends justify the cancerous means. There are maybe 60 SGs I'd take ahead of him.

I'll take a Thad Young if they get Vonleh or Randle. Cap space be damned 8 mil contract for his output is a steal. Let's hope it's not all in the 2015 FA basket.

How about Mayo for Felton & JR. He's due 8 mil on the 15-16 cap. Felton & JR are due 10.4. If it's about 2015, do whatever you can to get as much space as possible.

Good pt. Would be the first time Felton's lack of good defense benefits us

Thad is the new Odom. A Phil Jackson every tool lefty type of player. He's the high IQ version of Josh Smith and would fit perfectly in the triangle and next to Melo.

Mayo is the perfect 3rd guy.
But my agenda would be to pluck one of the elite Defensive big men that the Bucks would be willing to give up for a pick(like the oKC pick) if they get Embiid.

taking the malcontent Mayo and his contract would sweeten the pot.

Sanders or Henson
PF
Melo
Mayo

Defense, talent, scoring. that's a nice team setting us up for 2015 pickings.
Ofcourse this only works if we end up with a couple of picks, TPE for Tyson and Shump and getting rid of JR and Felton.

Henson is troubled and less proven. But he's more of a two way player than Sanders and on a rookie scale.

MCW/Shump/THJ would be an awesome PG-SG-SF core.

So you just made one of our division rivals a much better team than us.......No thanks.

Just read something today saying that they're real close to making a plea deal that most likely does not include any jail time and they should have the plea done by his next court date which is June 23rd.

I still think that the Clippers could be a team that we sign and trade Melo to if he still wants to opt out of his contract with us.

STOUDEMIRE to Sac trade idea

Post#1373 » by City of Trees » Mon Jun 2, 2014 7:56 am

Ok so I know you guys are looking to keep your cap flexibility entering this FA and next. Phil has also stated he will trade for a player if he fits with his vision. My idea is based on two things
1. Breaking Stoudemire s huge cap number into small, easy movable contracts.
2. Add scoring at PF

NY trades
Stoudemire -$23M exp

Sac trades
Terry - $5.4M exp
D. Williams - $6.6M exp team option
C. Landry- 3yr 6.7M
Outlaw - $3M exp

Total outgoing from Kings $21.7M

What do you guys think? I'm sure the biggest protest would be Landry. Hard to argue tho that the smaller expirings give Phil more options to improve your team. Anyways let me know what you think. Good luck this offseason!

LOL No.
Knicks are better off staying loyal to STAT rather then just trading him for smaller expirings & another long term deal. Hell no.

So we send out the best player (tells you how bad what you're sending back is) AND we take back long term salary. Send the #8 pick or u can have Bargs for Terry / Williams.

Don't think we would do Amare for just your expiring, so including Landry's crap contract is a major no no. If you offer the number 8 pick it's still likely a no, but that is at least worth a discussion.

At the end of the day it's probably a no. The team gave Phil Jackson $60 million to sign free agents. They already know they can't make a good trade so it's like they stopped trying. It's all about free agency in 2015 now and I don't think the number 8 pick in this years draft is worth sacrificing that flexibility, but if Marcus Smart or Julius Randle fall it might be.
