That would probably be the best possible outcome from this off-season.

This team has had so much dirt thrown in it's face, any prediction that has a positive impact on Detroit almost seems unrealistic. That's kind of sad.

First, I briefly was shocked that Popovich would consider leaving SA to take the GM position under SVG.

The moves all look great, if they are possible. But I'd guess Dinwiddie goes 10 picks earlier than that. It'd be wonderful if he fell. Ariza is probably going to get another 1-2 million a year. Someone is going to max Monroe, and there won't be a real alternative to matching it. OKC probably can't let Lamb go, because they don't have much perimeter depth. Dang it. I just totally proved ImHeisenberg right.

Jonas and Papa Smurf as back-up bigs would suck. I'd definitely want to go after a better PF to back-up Monroe IF you're scenario played out.

Its a sound idea, that on the surface seems like it could work for all involved...

Both Deroit and Houston would do that trade, but I doubt OKC does.

OKC's primary need is a reliable 3rd scorer. Yes Perkins is pretty bad, and he does hold the team back. But Asik is only a marginal upgrade, and doesn't provide much on the offensive side where they need the most help. I also don't think they would view Steven Adams as much of a downgrade compared to Asik. Plus, as mentioned OKC is paper thin and have basically no bench. I just don't envision them trading 2 of their best 3 trade chips (Perk's expiring and Lamb a nice prospect with upside) for Asik who really wouldn't help them that much. Reggie Jackson of course being the other trade chip.

I also think that OKC's window my be starting to close. It all depends on what Durant's desires involve. If he wants to move on to a better market, next season is their last definite shot at a ring. Durant only has 2 more seasons left before he hit unrestricted free agency. That being the case, if Durant indeed desires a bigger stage (or at least a team that isn't as frugal) then they have to seriously consider trading him next summer. With that in mind, they may be contemplating an all in type of run for the next season or two (which would be twofold, trying to win a 'ship and trying to convince Durant to stay by putting better pieces in place). A guy like Omer Asik isn't going to fit in with a plan like that.

As for the rest, I would personally just assume keep Bynum. I don't like Mills really at all. Plus if all Detroit will get for Will is a late 2nd, I'd just keep him around. Will is better than a lot of people give him credit for, plus his expiring contract may be of use later on for trade purposes.

I'd be fine with that type of Ariza signing.

I don't know anything about the draft this year so I can't comment on that, but Dinwiddie (lol) sounds like a player who will fit a need.

The Smith trade is actually realistic (which is very rare on this forum), it would be great if we could do a deal like that.

I think we have to re-sign Moose, especially if we trade Smith.

I don't think Ariza is deserving of the hype surrounding him, in my eyes he is just a guy who played well in a contract year, and we all know how signing contract year superstars works out. With that said, he is a productive player at our biggest position of need and 3/21 is a reasonable contract. But I think we would have to pay more than that in the real world to sign him.

As an Aussie I like the idea of signing Paddy, he's a great spark plug off the bench, and once again brings more shooting.

I love Dinwiddie and hope that we draft him, but I think that he has a promise from a team for a first round selection, because he said that he'd only come out for the draft if he believed he'd be a first round pick. We might have to trade up for him.

Any trade that moves Josh Smith is a huge if, even if it seems pretty fair. I suspect Houston will hold out for a true star player to give them a big three.

If Ariza continues to play like he did last year he'd be a great fit, but of course you have to worry about that contract year stuff, and I think I head that he was a guy who wasn't a huge fan of SVG. IDK, could be wrong there. Plus, lots of teams are interested in him out there, not guarantee he'll come here. Wiz are liable to overpay him now that they finally reached the playoffs.

Mills is solid, but I don't like spending cash on a backup PG. You can find a guy with solid production for basically nothing every year, plus, playing for the Spurs could be making him look better than he actually is.

I think that Dallas has enough PGs who can't play defense (Calderon, Ellis+ a couple of draft picks), so I don't think they'll take Bynum off of our hands.

Solid plan, we've definitely seen a lot worse around here. If everything did work out that way our real problem would be our depth at PF, which would be awful IMO.
