Hi there,
I come in peace. Just had a trade proposal: Would you guys be interested in David Lee + Harrison Barnes for David West (and possibly future 1st round pick)?

Re: GSW Trade Idea
West is a major team leader. We'd be unlikely to move him and I really don't think we'd give up a future first for the privilege. Looks like neither of us have a first this year which probably doesn't make us the best trading partners. however, if we lose Lance Stephenson to free agency, we might be willing to discuss a small deal for Barnes or a little bigger deal for Iggy.

Re: GSW Trade Idea
It would change our identity from defensive to offensive if Lee played the 4, but he has always intrigued me as a double double guy, Barnes could be a nice addition if Lance does go, worth considering although the first is an issue as Wizop says.
How many years left on Lee's contract?

Lee is more offensive-minded than West is. A walking double-double on most nights (even triple double if he can find open players). He's actually very similar to West, in it that he's a sound leader in the lockerroom. But, is very lacking on defense (the only knock to his game). But overall, a hardworking player that puts in the effort every night.

West doesn't make that much so even if it were legal it would limited the money we have to pay Lance.

This would hurt Indy; and benefit GSW. West is a big moment player and he is the glue guy on this team in terms of leadership; if many think the Danny trade hurt (I did); wait until West is traded; the wheels might come all the way off. If im GM i wouldnt even consider this; and thats no disrespect to David Lee or Barnes who has a bright future. If you said Curry; I would be willing to take the chance on implosion. I would give up Hibbert; West; 1st round pick and Hill and take back Curry and Lee in a heartbeat.

IMO, West changed the culture of our organization when he came in. He means way more to us than "skills" at this point. It's just a huge plus that he's still a BEAST !!

In this kind of offer, no one will knock Lee. He's a solid player, it's just usually his contract that is critiqued. And in this case, it's extremely tough for us to eat. He makes $3m more than West next year alone. Then Barnes is $3m, as well. It guarantees that we can't re-sign Lance, and the deal is simply illegal (though we could include Scola and you guys would either keep him or buy him out for the $2m-ish that's guaranteed according to Larry Coon and count55). It'd be hard to turn down Barnes and Lee for West though (as we can't really include any 1st's at all), in theory.

I've jotted down at least a hundred scenarios, none of which included DWest. I might do west/ hill for lee/Barnes/filler (app. $2 m)
