1. Breaking Stoudemire s huge cap number into small, easy movable contracts.
2. Add scoring at PF

NY trades
Stoudemire -$23M exp

Sac trades
Terry - $5.4M exp
D. Williams - $6.6M exp team option
C. Landry- 3yr 6.7M
Outlaw - $3M exp

Total outgoing from Kings $21.7M

What do you guys think? I'm sure the biggest protest would be Landry. Hard to argue tho that the smaller expirings give Phil more options to improve your team. Anyways let me know what you think. Good luck this offseason!

sorry, bro. that does nothing for the knicks. i honestly wouldn't do that if you included the 8th pick too (i don't think the guys i like will fall that far)

Smaller expirings for our larger ones mean absolutely nothing since we're not looking to trade the expiring deals. If they're just gonna expire, it'd doesn't matter if it's Amar'e's huge one or 10 small $2 mil ones.

Sending out STAT gets us smaller expiring deals + a longer term one....not interested. Include 8 and it's worth a look.

Though there is no easy way to move Terry and Outlaw, Jackson would likely take the deal in a instant; simply for Landry's ability to stay on the court and defend. Williams might surprise but it is doubtful. The Kings may want rid of all but Landry but a uninsured lousy defender is not what they are looking to add to Cousins and Gay. I'm just hoping Jackson doesn't move Stat at the trade deadline for bit players with any extra years on their contracts.

bingo landry has 3 more years on his deal, no way Jax is taking on that terrible contract even if the kings sent us the 8th pick in the draft.

Celtics, Lakers, Kings, Hornets, Wolves, Suns Open To Trading Lottery Pick

The idea of a lottery pick in this year's draft being available in trade talks is a surprising development, but several teams appear amenable to a deal.

"I thought getting a lottery pick via trade would be virtually impossible this year," one NBA GM said. "It's not. There are a lot of teams in the lottery right now that would prefer a proven player. A lot of owners have lost their patience with the rebuilding process."

The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns are all open to offers for their lottery picks, according to sources.

The Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors are expected to be especially busy looking to move up or to acquire a second pick.

If Melo chooses Houston there could be a scenario where a reunited Lin, Chandler and Fields might be more fun to watch lose than many of the alternatives.

TRADING MELO TO ROCKETS

Post#1393 » by KnicKERBoXERS » Fri Jun 6, 2014 6:13 am

Sign and trade Melo along with JR Smith and Raymond Felton to Houston for
Chandler Parsons (Sign and trade hopefully somewhere along 5 years for 45-55 mil)
1st and 2nd round picks
Jeremy Lin
and Omer Asik

then buy a 2nd round pick from either (or multiple) Chicago / Philadelphia / LA Clippers / Memphis / Oklahoma City

Houston gets what they want dumping Lin and Asik for Melo...
Knicks finally get ball movement on their team...

In 2015 free agency... go after PG Goran Dragic or Rajon Rondo...
PF Kevin Love / Markieff Moris / Thaddeus Young
C Deandre Jordan / Robin Lopez Or keep Asik from the trade...

2014-2015 Team of
Lin / Shumpert / Parsons / Asik / Chandler
isn't too bad...

Ideal 2015 - 2016 team would be
Dragic / Shump / Parsons / Love / Jordan

still boggles my mind why anyone would want to trade melo to the rockets after what happened with lin, and in a package that contains lin no less. lin asik and a first was their offer. if they called me with that offer I'd file a complaint with the FCC so that the crotchrox would have to put me on a do not call list.

i don't get the deal with that team. i understand why howard is untouchable, and i wouldn't want that idiot because he is an idiot, but, they had harden, parsons and howard and they couldn't get pass the first round. how are the three of them untouchable? i seriously i have a strong disdain for morey's pokemon catching ass.
