Ford @Insider: Cavs have eye on Noah (Love Aldridge Horford)

Post#1 » by FirmBizBws » Tue Jun 3, 2014 11:38 pm

From the realgm wire tap thingy:

The Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in acquiring an established All-Star big via trade.

Kevin Love is of interest to the Cavaliers and is the closest player in a group that could be available that includes Joakim Noah, LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford.

Aldridge was mentioned in trade rumors a year ago, but the Blazers are now trending upwards after advancing into the second round.

I don't see how the bulls could turn this down. You save cap space and get the first pick in the draft for an often injured center. You could start a rebuild around a core of the drafted player, have enough money to comfortably sign melo and maybe sign or trade for a cheap center who can provide some of the defense and rebounding you miss with Noah.

This is a no brained if true, you can't keep clinging to this guy, this is the perfect deal

Again, i don't know how much validity this article has. Like, if it's the same story as previously reported, in which Ford reported that any of those 4 guys would be of interest to them for the top pick, then it's not really anything of substance. I'm sure a lot of teams would (hypothetically) be interested in Love, Noah, Horford, and LMA.
Derrick Rose will do 1 of 2 things in the 2014-2015 NBA Season: 1) Return to MVP form and prove you wrong, or 2) Fail to return to MVP form and prove me wrong. Either way, one of us will end up looking like an ***hole.

I locked this and then there's been some questioning among the mod staff as to whether the WT piece is citing the same Chad Ford chat that spurred the thread that I linked above. The WT piece links to an Insider article, so I can't check. The OP's quote sure sounded just like the Chad Ford chat opinions. Let's get this sorted out quickly so we can tell if it's a legitimate rumor or just a WT hack's rehashing of a non-story.

Today did Chad say Noah was available, or the wiretap writer. Wiretap summary writers tend to be crap half the time.

whether or not this thread should be taken seriously depends on who is saying this about those players. Chad Ford, or the wiretap guy turning in a bad summary. I don't have insider so I can't check. Somebody needs to check that.

If CLE trades that pick they should lose their franchise.

if cleveland is offering it you take it and run. See ya Noah. will love you forever! dunno if i would go embiid or parker tho

embiid I feel will be a beast and one of the best centers in the NBA (much better than Noah) but Idt he will be dominant intime for rose's prime. Parker on the other hand is hometown hero and would prolly get chosen..... but that puts melo out the window unless we went melo at the 4...

Of course, if Cleveland really would offer the #1 pick for Noah, its the no brainer of all no brainers for the Bulls. How often can you get the #1 pick in the draft for a role player? It doesn't happen.

Can someone point to where it says Cleveland is interested in Noah? I can't find it. If not, can we change the thread title, as the title indicates that Cleveland is interested in Noah.

There's no guarantee of that at all, but from my perspective, I'm getting cap space and a young potential franchise player for joakim Noah, I'm never going to get this opportunity again.

Melo isn't guaranteed to sign with Noah anyway

This was my error, I was running through my news feed and saw this and posted it, didn't clearly read until shortly after, can someone fix this please, thanks.

I see. Thanks. It appears the wiretap writer has embellished to a certain extent.

Question is, why they would have their eye on Noah. Did the Bulls make it seem like he was avail? That would follow. But I'm uncomfortable the way wiretap creates things that have not actually been said sometimes.
