Masai tried his best last year in acquiring Giannis and has said he is looking to aquire a small forward type player in this years draft.

I wonder who he has in mind.

Not sure is posted

Elfrid Payton appears to be closing the gap considerably -- something reflected in Payton's move to No. 13 on our Big Board. Several team sources say he's in the mix at No. 8 in Sacramento after a terrific workout there. The Hornets at No. 9 and the Magic at No. 12 are possibilities, as well. I doubt he gets past the Bulls or Raptors in the mid-first round. ESPN.com

Do you have ESPN insider and if so could you just copy and paste the whole article. Would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I wonder if the Bucks will be dumb enough to trade their 2nd pick for Demar, 20th and NYK 2016. haha

Unless we're looking at moving into the top 5 (unlikely), I'd be more interested in buying another late 1st or early 2nd. It's not worth it to move up from 20 to get someone like Aaron Gordon or Dario Saric for example

Seems like Bogan has a bad temper. He got ejected from a game and choked by his coach.

He may slip to the second round!

Bogdan Bogdanović is projected as a second-round pick in the 2014 NBA draft. A 21-year-old shooting guard from Serbia, he has quality size and a solid skillet, but he lacks the athleticism necessary to put his draft stock over top.

He can also slightly lose his temper after an, admittedly bad, foul call.

That doesn’t excuse the “coaching” that followed (ha

An established all star big man, which we don't have.

Not a ringing endorsement for his NBA prospects, IMO. Others may see it differently, I'm interested to read people's reactions.

I really don't see what people see in Payton. I think he's highly overrated on this board. He's going to be a fringe starter at best, and probably never amount to anything more than a backup/defense matchup player. He's a Junior, it's not like this guy is 18 and just needs time to develop his game. He's got a lot of holes to his game and probably wouldn't be able to work on them here.

His combination of quickness and ball handling can get to the rim, which is part of what we need. Then his playmaking isn't bad. Adding his defensive ability, he can be a two-way player (but a bit more ball dominate, since his weak shooting will be hard to play off the ball).

Is he quick at the NBA level though? Is his ball handling good at the NBA level? Especially when defenders as big and athletic as he is are sagging off him because of his weak shot?

I'm really surprised to hear about him going as high as 8th.

I hope he does go ahead of us.

SkywalkerAC wrote:I don't know, I guess it's the way KA can push it out in front with those long strides that makes it look so different, smooth, yet effective. Steve Nash comes to mind as a guy that looks so smooth pushing hard off that back foot and past guys to the rim, rather hurky-jerkeying with the ball, though Paul Pierce can do that as well, which is maybe where this comparison comes from. And more than likely Anderson would be well-advised to add more and more Pierce-esque craftiness to his dribble-game.

Bottomline, I do think there is something special in Anderson's handle, but it's largely that ability to get his head past his defenders' hips using those long strides to get into the lane. In the NBA he'll have to tighten it up, dribble more defensively and less, but he should be fine.

But Steve Nash changes speed extremely well, he can go full speed out of triple threat then stop on a dime to a complete stop and with his man's momentum going forward trying to recover he'll accelerate past them using their own momentum against them with a quick plyo step which is why he's so tough to defend. Same with other less explosive ball-handlers like CP3 and James Harden who are always playing at different gears. Anderson is incredibly strong, so he's able to bully guys when he drives and combined with his long strides he can go to spots, but a lot of his touch shots is awkward because he doesn't separate well on the second step. I think that his strength is going to be nullified where defenders are now able to match his strength and he won't have the advantage of bullying defenders.

He protects and shields the ball well because he's got a wide frame, but as a ball-handler he rarely looks to put pressure on the defense by being in attack mode. If he's the primary ball-handler and he's only protecting the ball that's not a great playmaker. Watch his inside-out dribble at 3:24:

He's not going to sell move at all to a defender without using his entire body to make his defender think he's going to make a crossover a la CP3. He's not very bouncy or shifty with the ball.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth
