Im a critic of Biyombo, but Im also a big time fan. I praise him at times, but down him at times as well. Hes working his ass off right now to get better, but Im not sure he is going to be the player we all thought he would be when he was drafted.
That depends on what you thought he could be. I had hope that he could be a elite shot blocker and rim protector and he's became that. Of course I want for him to get more fundamentally sound from this point with simple stuff like catching the ball and finishing in traffic without turning the ball over but he's still relatively raw and young. He'll put it fully together in years to come but he's almost near a impact player as a defender. I have to go back to when Biz was drafted thread to see your expectations of him. Lol
When he was drafted I thought he was going to be an absolute beast. He still might be. Then he had his game against Howard where he had like 10/10 with 7 blocks and dominated him his rookie year and I was all in. Since then he has shown flashes.
Also his game winning block against the now Pelicans his rookie year was astounding. I have not given up on him at all, and I will not put him down for the sake of it like some posters do certain players, but he needs to turn it up this year.
My patience doesn't span years unless I see a weakness improve with my own eyes.
Zeller - got more aggressive, made more jumpshots when left wide open
Biz - less turnover prone, added a couple moves to his arsenal on offense
These guys have shown me glimpses.
Kemba has flaws to - he improved his 3pt shooting. He's becoming a better distributor. Improvement.
MKG?
His jump shot has gotten WORSE and he drove me crazy with it from day 1 as pick #2 overall. I've waited and waited 2 years for some sign it will improve. But it has gotten WORSE.
You seem to have more patience than me when it comes to MKG.
Next year is year 3 for him.
Your last? One more?
