The best teams in this league have 2 or 3 all-stars - something Larry and Knight are probably never going to be. 2 picks in the top 7 of this draft along with Giannis gives us the best chance to have that. Larry's interior defense would be missed (depending on who we picked), but I'd do this trade in a heartbeat and figure the rest out later.

I know in the past he'd spend hours thinking up creative stuff like that, but less so now that he works part time at this ESPN job and teaches law school. That feels like one side floating something out there, maybe even the Bucks.

If you believe the intel from last week, E/L want to be bad next year also, don't think Knight is PG. Then you add in the question of whether you want Larry around the young players.

I think that trade idea is entirely contingent on Embiid falling to us at #2. If it happens, I'd be all over shopping Larry for the #7 or #8 pick. Try and convince SAC that you get an elite rim-protecting C and allow Cousins to move to the 4 and fully utilize his mid range game (think Al Horford).

Although it would be interesting to know if the new owners simply don't view Larry as a long term piece.

Well according to our "Insider" Woelfel, the new owners would give Larry away at this point. That's what he said on the Chuck and Wickett show yesterday. So maybe if Embiid goes #1 they still make the trade just to get out of Sanders contract? Not like we are going to compete next year anyways and there is a plethora of good big men in next years draft. Just spit balling

Sanders has All-Star potential due to his defense. He's that good defensively. However, if Embiid is the pick there's no reason to keep Sanders and if a strong offer came in for him on draft night I wouldn't waste time thinking about it.

I haven't heard too much about this. Definitely odd considering he showed decent form before and was hitting the college 3 at a 40% clip (although a small sample size).

He was the #5 prospect on a lot of people's boards, including mine, before the combine and workouts, but now he seems to be settling in behind the likes of Smart and Gordon. I still have him above Randle though.

I'd like to at least try a Giannis/Embiid/Sanders frontcourt if we do somehow land him. That's best defensive frontcourt in the league easy. Obviously, the backcourt would really need to be able to shoot/score.

With the Lakers possibility, you've got to figure out who the Lakers send back. If they keep Pau under a win now mandate, his cap hold is going to be +/- $29 million. So they won't have much cap room. We'd have to take someone back likely.

I feel like they might part with Pau this off-season. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, just the feeling I've gotten since the end of the season.

Nash

and just imagine if he could take Smart under his wing for a year (or LaVine (for SH))

Man if the Bucks can make a deal with the Lakers for the 7th pick, I'd be ecstatic! Chad Ford has mustered up even more excitement for all the possibilities we could see on draft night. Truly is a new era!

I think #7 is a good slot for him. Which is why I'd be all over the Lakers pick if they are indeed open to dealing it. But a lot of the intrigue surrounding him was his perimeter shooting ability (thus the Bosh comparisons).

So him changing up his mechanics and "not shooting well" afterward is a bit concerning. I'd still take him in the 6-8 range without hesitation though.

If we draft Parker and then trade Sanders and Knight for 7 we will be awful again. Personally, I wouldn't do the deal unless Smart is there if we go with Parker. I we go with Embiid or Wiggins, then sure take Vonleh or Gordon even though I'm not a real big fan of either just from what I've seen.

good players but if im making that deal im taking smart at 7.To me a parker and smart plus middleton at the 2 giannis at the 3 isn't bad,Though theres seem to be a hole at the center spot

Honestly, I don't care if we trade Sanders and Knight for #7 even if we don't draft Embiid at #2. I'm on the tank wagon for next year again. We need talent and the top of this draft has tons. Give me any combination of Wiggins, Parker, Embiid with our first pick and then Vonleh, Gordon, Smart, Randle with the 7th pick. I suppose if I had a preference, if we took Parker, I'd hope we could take Smart, but even if Smart is off the board and we took Parker, I still wouldn't care if we took another big like Vonleh, Gordon, Randle. Talent talent talent. Can't be stingy on positions when you are starting fresh in my opinion.

I don't really love the combination of Smart and Parker. They both need the ball in their hands.
