IMO, this is absolutely the toughest group to call. As of now I pick Colombia and Japan

Group should be facinating as we watch three very different sides try to make sure we don't have to watch any more of the greeks. Colombia doing so with spectacular forwards and a winger, Japan doing it with all of the slick, little attacking midfielders, and the Ivorry coast with pace, power and size.

I've got Colombia and Japan with another third place finish for the Ivorians.

Japan has a hard time scoring.

Greece, we wont even talk about them and scoring

agreed with 4 different styles of play
so it will b fun to watch who imposes their style on the other

i picked Columbia and IC

It's the most unpredictable group.

Especially with Falcao's health in doubt for Colombia.

I think my Greek guys are going to find a way to progress with Japan.

It seems like every time Ivory Coast is in the World Cup that I overrate the hell out of them and they end up underperforming badly. They have a ton of talent but can't ever get their **** together. Hopefully that trend continues.

Santos is playing a **** midfield as expected that includes Katsouranis and Tziolis. I don't think Karagounis can even contribute even as just a bench guy any longer.

Had an awful 0-0 draw that showed that Holebas is too risky at LB (I much prefer Tzavellas starting).

Both Sokratis and Manolas got hurt.

We play Nigeria in Philadelphia tonight at 7 p.m. on beIN Sports and it looks like Sokratis is resting.

I'm flying up to NY for the Greece-Bolivia match in Jersey on Friday. I'm excited. First time seeing my national team in person.

Japan has looked good in their friendlies.

Colombia doesn't have Falcao but have way more weapons.

What an easy **** group for Columbia - and they'll still have trouble advancing.

We drew 0-0 against Nigeria in Philadelphia, but it's the best we've looked since knocking off Romania 3-1 during the playoffs:

Santos had 10 different starters from the Portugal match and the younger guys looked great: Fetfatzidis, Christodoulopoulos, Samaris, Kone, and Tachtsidis to name a few.

I'll be at Red Bull Arena for the Bolivia match on Friday. We need to score a goal desperately, we're in a drought.

Does IC really disappoint though?

They drew Argentina/Holland once and Brazil/Portugal the other time. They were never expected to advance.

Okazaki, Honda, Kagawa >>> this group. Japan will at least get 2nd. Colombia probably 1st.

The holy Drogba will definitely not make it out if the group stage.

This is where the FIFA 'lottery' system just fails completely. Such a fail-group, I can't imagine any exciting games here except for maybe Japan-Colombia.

ivory coast-colombia will be exciting just from the attacking talent point of view if anything else.

talent wise ivory coast miles ahead of japan and on par with colombia minus falcao, on paper they should qualify. don't know anything about their coach though, he might ruin things.

After the season Atletico had, if Colombia make a deep run here, who ought to hand Falcao his Ewing Theory trophy? I'm thinking the occasion calls for Sepp Blatter.

Almost all IC players are lack of football iq and maturity. They act like 3 yr old babies. The talent is there but they are missing the more important elements of football.

I think Colombia wins this group easily. They are very talented without Falcao and none of these teams have the firepower to expose their rather weak front line. Colombians and Brazilians are most equipped to deal with the weather down there and the Colombian faithful are going to be rocking the place. They will have one of the most well represented fan bases along with Brazil, Mexico and Argentina and the Colombians will be rowdy with their first cup in 16 years. Calling it now that if they can avoid Brazil I think Colombia can reach the semis.

They will also have the hottest fans and the Colombian women will remind us all of Colombia's importance to the World Cup :D
