One would think that the Wolves best interest would be to trade Love on or before the draft. Unless of course if the wolves truly believe they can hire a coach and convince Love to stay within the next three weeks. If he cannot be convinced stay then the wolves can try and trade him in February.

Of course then the wolves run into trouble with trade partners. Losing teams that are may not want to give up their high draft pick just to have Love be a FA. They can try and trade him to a contender like the Warriors but they will not get a high pick and have to take on a contract like David Lee.

I don't think there's any coach they can hire that will make Love want to stay. Plus no big name coach is gonna sign on with the T-Wolves to watch Love leave and they go to the lottery again. The front office is the biggest problem not the coaching staff.

I really wouldn't be shocked to see this whole ordeal prolonged... It would be a pretty big pill to swallow if we have to give up a multitude of assets to get Love at the deadline. At that point it might just be better to clear cap space and sign him outright when he becomes a F/A.

The wolves are not winning a championship in three years you can bank on that and quote me on it. They need to come to the realization that he wants out of Minnesota and grant me his wish.

I don't care who they're hire as a coach. they're not winning a championship. They're not a free agent destination plus I doubt they have the assets meaning picks to build a team around Love.

This thread has mushroomed since I was last here. Sorry if this is redundant but the true story behind Rondo meeting is deflating.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Never sure which love thread to post these in, so I'm going with both once again;

This would be absolutely devastating.

It wouldn't be. I trust danny to know he has a backup plan. I'm not worried.

But on the plus side, if he's not signing an extension, and the Kings aren't surrounding him with great players, and if he won't feel loyalty to the Kings, maybe it wouldn't bee such a bad thing.

I doubt they are the actual leaders.

#8 and McLemore is about all they have to offer. Gay's trade value is minimal, Isaiah Thomas is a free agent and they can't trade another pick until 2017, IIRC.

Buzz around #NBA is #Kings leaders in Kevin Love sweepstakes when/if occur. Don't care about extension. Will trade anything but Cousins. - Sam Amico

I hope we keep hearing that more teams are in the "Lead" for Love...I don't like being the only team--or hearing it's a done deal to the Celtics....Will suck-just like the David West debacle.
Rather just go under the radar til draft night---and have Ainge swoop in.

The Wolves are dumber than I originally though If they take the Kings offer over the Celtics offer.

#6, Sully, and a future 1st already beats out McLemore/#8 and that's before the Celtics take back contracts potentially.

Now you see why Love wants out of there. They front office are stupid.

I believe BfB called Love's visit to Boston the "missiles in Turkey" move. At this point they are saying, "this **** is serious, get your final offers in because we aren't messing around and are prepared to make the move".

The posturing is all a part of this. Especially with this likely being a draft day deal, that leaves us a LOT of time to bull around with new "leaders" and media leaks. Logic says, Boston can put together the best offer. Now obviously, Ainge is going to play hard ball and retain as much as he can, but these kinds of media leaks are the teams' way of seeing who will blink first.

I don't see how Sac can offer more than Boston if Cousins is off the table. Even our lottery pick is better.
