If boozer goes in a trade for love I see no way that we are under the cap enough to sign Melo out right. Remember, we now have loves cap number. Melo would have to come here in a sign and trade.

Yep, this is what I was thinking.

TWolves want guys that can play and win now. They may want Taj more than Niko but I think NIko is a perfect fit for them.

I think it would be

MIN - Boozer, Butler, Niko, 16, Sac Pick

NYK - Taj, Snell, MDJ, Unguaranteeds, 19 Pick

You probably take back Budinger from MIN.

I just believe a S&T for Carmelo is a foregone conclusion because the Knicks are 'desperately' looking to get in the first round. If Melo decides to leave, Phil is going to let him go just like he let Kerr go, and he'll get the picks he wants back.

Love Jimmy but if you are the Bulls you just have to do it...

Jimmy Butler would be less of a asset if he was drafted by the Kings or Bucks. Chicago and Thibs have made him a household name in NBA fan homes. Everyone know who KLove is because he is talented no matter where he plays.

Not saying im all for the trade but Jimmy Butler shouldnt keep you from getting Love or Melo.

The more assets used to trade for Love or Melo, the more difficult it is to acquire the other. That's why there's virtually no shot of getting both. Plus, it would be insanely difficult to keep three max players and Noah together long term. If you want those three to work financially, Noah would have to go.

Can't see Minnesota taking one first rounder for Love while we give the Knicks three.

If they move Love, Martin and filler to Chicago they'd look like...

SF - Budinger
PF - Luc Mbah a Moute

So they'd need to get Boozer(for an expiring contract), Gibson, Butler, Mirotic's rights and a 1st round pick they could quickly turn things around. What if Boozer is then moved for say... J.Smith(to get Detroit out of that contract)?

Minnesota then looks like...

I'd have to say that's a much better team then what they have now and in the next 3-5 years especially if Mirotic becomes anywhere close to an all-star. Who knows, maybe Chicago also signs and trades DJ for Dieng or Shabazz which instantly helps them out at PG with the lack of shooting behind Rubio.

I don't see Niko going to Minnesota either. New York could be a place he would play though. We deff shouldn't hold back a jimmy Butler trade either. He's going to be a free agent soon and someone will overpay for him. Cash in on him now before you end up having to match a 5-7mil deal.

i hate this line of argument. it's like people who determine how much something is worth to them on ebay, put in a bid at that amount, then up it at the last second when someone outbids them. they think they've "won" the auction, but really they've just overpaid more than the person they were bidding against would have

Sending out Boozer, Taj, and Butler would allow us to take back both Brewer and Budingers bad contracts along with Love. Hell - package up our non-guarantees and we can take back even more crap from Minnesota if necessary.
