After watching Parker's workout video I'm sold, he's my #1, and to think he's going to fall to #3? Hell yeah.

Take it for what it's worth, which is next to nothing of course.
This "rumor" wouldn't surprise me, but I find it hard to believe that this would leak but the potential trade of Jrue last year did not.
The MCW rumors I thought came from a writer??
I think this is a 100% true, we all know Wiggins has been #1 on the draft board since Day1. Exum is #2 on there draft board. We all are aware if the Exum and Brett Brown connection has been written about numerous times the 76ers were one of the 1st teams to interview him during the pre draft combine the 76ers are comfortable with aMCW Exum backcourt.
I'm know Hinkie didn'tleak the rumor because that's not how he opperates. This guy does his homework and plays everything close to the vest. I'm sure the other teams who inqured leaked rumor. The only way Hinkie trades MCW is if able to walk away from this draft with BOTH Wiggins and Exum!

Maybe for a superstar, but otherwise no. The Sixers and coaches have too much invested in MCW to gamble on a pick who might never produce the numbers he had this season.
If you look past the box score, he was one of the most inefficient players in the NBA. For a rookie it was above average season but let's not act like MCW is some incredible player here. Especially because he is a point guard, he is very expendable. I don't think it's a slam dunk that MCW will be here indefinitely
Sure, we can dump on MCW's inefficiencies as a rookie but before he is indicted as a fraud, can we please remember the context under which he played? The Sixers were overtly Tanking. MCW had LESS talent to work with as the season went on. How outstanding would MCW be if he had been plugged into the OKC lineup at PG with Westbrook at SG, for instance.
I have no problem trading MCW and "something else other than Noel" to get in the #4 - #8 range to put together the BP(s)A to fit with Noel. I'm down with Hinkie/Brown assembling a "Big 3" out of this draft by taking two guys in the top 6 like Wiggins/Vonleh, Wiggins/Exum, Parker/Vonleh, Wiggins/Gordon,... whatever two players the FO wants and if one isn't Exum, take Ennis or Payton later in the draft as the PG.
Ennis or Payton
Wroten
Wiggins
Vonleh
Noel

I didn't say he was a fraud. Point guards that can produce similar stats to MCW are a dime a dozen in the NBA. On OKC, MCW would likely be more efficient but his base stats would drop tremendously with less shot and ball handling responsibilities. I still have big questions about his shooting and ability to finish at the rim, regradless.
Of course we don't have to trade him. He certainly is not hurting the team right now. But if he would move us up from 3 to 1, or from 10 to 4 or 5, Hinkie definitely should consider it
I speak the truth.

You know who isn't really being talked about? Scottie Wilbekin.
He didn't put up the big stats, but he made almost every crucial big play for Florida this year. He was also a terror on defense.
Is he undersized? Not really, he's 6'3. His wingspan is undersized (also 6'3) but he was incredible on recovery defense and has a 38.5' max vert. Played in a pre draft scrimmage for the Clippers and had 6 points, 8 assists, 1 turnover in what appears to be a very short game. Watch his highlights. He always seemed to make the right play against UK, and then murdered us in the final minutes. I think his game translates better to the pros.

Give me whoever is left of Embiid, Wiggins, and Parker at #3. I don't know much about Exum, and to me it is about whether he can shoot or not and/or gain a shot.

We don't Hinkie's Board and we won't. I predict Hinkie either ends up with Embiid and one other top 10 pick OR three of the top 10 picks but no Embiid. In either case, I see him rolling up assets to keep moving up the Board. Although I have Embiid and Vonleh in my top 5 this year, I won't be disappointed if we wait to take a PF/C in the lottery next year. Now I'm thinking the over/under on Hinkie's draft day trades should be around five...

Re: 2013-2014 College Basketball / '14 NBA Draft Thread
3. Thaddeus Young, #10, #32 and #39 to the Lakers for #7 and Steve Nash’s expiring. Thaddeus Young and our two most valuable second-rounders might seem like a lot to give up to move up three spots in the draft, but they’re a big three spots–it’s the difference between adding a likely complimentary shooting guard and a power forward with star potential, as one of Vonleh, Gordon or Julius Randle should still be available at #7. Thad will likely be on the trading block sooner or later anyway, and as much as Hinkie loves his second-rounders, we still have three more to go, and they were all acquired first and foremost to help grease deals like this.
Meanwhile, the Lakers badly need any kind of high-level veteran assistance on their roster, and Thad would instantly become the second-best player on the team. With the three picks, two of which are basically late first-rounders in a draft this deep, the Lakers could also restock their team with good young talent, and along with another signing or two, give Kevin Love a reason to consider coming back to L.A. when he (as of now, anyway) hits free agency in the summer of 2015. Meanwhile, we take the Nash expiring off the Lakers’ hands, making adding Thad’s salary basically a wash for L.A., and ensuring the Lake Show still has room to add another quality free agent or two this summer.
Worth It? I think so. If the team improves as they should next season, this could be the Sixers’ last chance in a while to add a potential star-caliber talent through the draft, and all we’re really losing is a year of Thad that we were probably going to give up on sooner or later anyway. Plus, wouldn’t it be fun to have Nash on the bench for us next year, assuming he didn’t instantly demand a buyout? Who would be a better veteran mentor than that?
Could It Happen? Honestly, I don’t see why not. Seems like everyone wins in this one to me, except maybe Nash, but he’s getting paid almost ten mil just to show up, so it’s hard to feel too bad for him. This is probably my favorite of the oft-theorized fake trades for the Ballers.

Yeah. I think there will be multiple trades on draft day. He didn't save all of that cap space and collect all of those 2nd round picks for nothing. At the very least, I expect the 76ers to make a strong attempt to move into the top 7 or 8. And I would expect for them to trade some of those early 2's for mid-late 1st rounders.

So is it just me or the draft got 4 guys in tier 1? Another 4 in tier 2? And then very deep the rest of the way out. So with 3 and 10, unless some guys really start to drop, it be nice to move up the 10 to 7 or 8. If we trade MCW, is it fair to say we shouldnt do it unless he alone get us into the top 8, and if he is combined with the 10 it should be for top 4? Now what do we think thad young can get us alone? Does Phoenix or Chicago want him for their teen picks? Does 15 and 10 get us top 4 or only top 8? What type of picks are we getting for taking bad contracts back like Boozer or Nash? Think if we can get an idea of that value then a lot easier to start to figure out where Hinkie might be going with all his options.

And I will set the over/under for 1st round picks made by the Sixers at 3.5 -- good chance Hinkie packages 2nd's + cash to move into the 1st, and perhaps packages them to move up further... Or does something like the rumored Chicago deal

Why would the King trade completely outta the 1st round? especially for Thad? I didn't see a rumor that the Kings want any potential FA's/trades like Melo or Love.
If a trade with the Kings happen I am almost sure they want to stay in the 1st or get them a player that can help them now. I love Thad but he's a locker room guy/mentor. Not exactly what the Kings are looking for
Something like this I could definitely see happening:
Sixers out: #10, #32, #52, #54, Young, Anderson

Magic out: #4
Magic in: #8, #10, #54
Kings out: #8, Landry, Thompson, Terry

No but very different circumstances. A lot of people don't value Exum nearly as much as Wiggins, Embiid, Parker. Magic may think the gap between Smart and Exum is small enough to trade back.
